Take a look at this week’s Employee Spotlight, Shelly S! Shelly has been part of the American Cruise Lines team for more than six years. She began in our Sales department, then transitioned through roles in Customer Service, Travel, and is currently the Contact Center Trainer in Sandy, UT. Shelly is deeply passionate about learning and training.

“I love all the things that come with training! In my role, I like getting to introduce the company to new employees, guiding them through their transition from the training room to the floor, and cheering them on along the way. I love that I get to meet new people every few weeks and recycle all my dad jokes with each new class. As we travel to the most amazing destinations across the United States, American Cruise Lines offers our guests an elevated cruise experience - through personalized exploration, well-designed enrichment programs on board and ashore, and all the comforts that come with cruising on the newest and largest fleet in the country.

Our philosophy for success is simple; hire talented people and then provide training, support systems, and motivation so they will thrive and our guests will reap the benefits. We recognize that our employees have made us, and will continue to make us America's leading cruise line.

With over 35 itineraries visiting 25 states, we travel along the rivers, as well as the coastal and inland waterways of New England, Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, the Mississippi River system, and the Southeast. With fewer than 200 guests on board, our small ship design creates an intimate environment in which our guests are treated with the utmost care and attention. Crew members take pride in knowing our guests by name and understanding their preferences.

Year after year, American Cruise Lines has won more prestigious awards than any other U.S. cruise line, including Time magazine’s 2019 World’s Greatest Places award which honored American Song, the 1st modern riverboat in the U.S.A.
