Double Snapper limits for my Arkansas crew! We encoutered a really determined dolphin today, the battle lasted a very rough 20 minutes . After we lost, I made a few mile run to escape Flipper and they were able to pull 2 or 3 fish off one before the sharks turned up. On our next stop we finished off our Reds (2 per person) 18.5” on the smallest & the largest two were right around 23”. I ran us another few miles and landed on a nonstop bite. They ended up catching a nice mix of species and their allotment of Vermillion (10 per person). A boat full of athletes and outstanding fishermen from Arkansas (captain included) 😝!

We had some beautiful morning weather for today’s 4 hour nearshore trolling trip. North winds and very calm seas near the beach, but unfortunately the pelagic bite was very slow. We managed a few small Rudderfish while we were trolling but only the one Spanish mackerel. I stopped on a nearshore reef for a bit to curb our boredom, and they caught a ton of juvenile red snapper, a half dozen plus triggerfish/rudderfish and plenty of grunts. Brandon (not me) also snagged 4 keeper Vermillion Snapper.

We kicked off July with a bucket list trip. My group wanted to catch Barracuda with a side of king mackerel. The Cudas are here! We managed 7 barracuda bites with 4 hookups, but zeros on the catch board(3 shook hooks and 1 breakoff). Definitely some emotional damage for captain and crew today 😂. We did a little trolling afterwards and caught 4 bobos, they were going shark fishing tonight so FRESH BAIT! That 35+lb Aj bit on wire and was landed on a 5500 spinfisher, 30lb gear. Impressive catch!
