Great time in Fort Morgan
Left the landlocked state of Oklahoma to visit Fort Morgan. Accommodations were very nice and clean plus beach access was perfect. Jana was very helpful and answered questions promptly. I'm looking forward to the next time already. Thanks again for sharing your home. It was a great trip.

We are full for most of the summer now but still have the last week of July and lots of open dates in August through the Fall! WOW - we just had to share our latest review:

"Every Year, a couple of my guy friends and I get away for a time of comradery, fun, beach fishing and good food, primarily Fishing! We have stayed up and down the beaches of Florida from Port St. Joe to Pensacola and have enjoyed every one. This year we decided to stay a little closer to Home and started looking on the Alabama beaches because we all live in Alabama. I was designed as the one to find our Guy Trip "Home" and I came across Sun Place in Fort Morgan AL, liked what I saw and booked a Thursday thru Sunday trip. My My My did we find a place that filled every wish and want that all the guys would ask for! Less than 100 yards from the sand and water and a tad bit over a mile to the Mobile Bay and a boat launch for the boat and a little bay reef fishing. The house was absolutely beautiful and decorated up scale and it smells wonderful, oh yea us guys notice that stuff too. The beds were fantastic, the bathrooms were out of this world, the kitchen was fully stocked, and I mean Fully stocked with everything. I cooked fresh Pompano straight out of the Gulf and had everything I needed do it. Front porch and under the house was a welcome place after fishing all day, not to mention the huge outdoor hot and cold shower was fantastic! Underneath the house was large enough to park the boat and well lighted for security. the owners of SunPlace Jana and Mike treated us like family and made sure we had every convenience to make our trip a success! I will end this by saying We Will Be Back! We Just Want To Go Fishing! Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Rugg!!" Mark Sharp Sr.

Everything about this property was absolutely perfect. The home is recently renovated. You can feel the love, care and hard work from the owners as soon as you open the gate to the front porch. It's lovely & breathtaking. Everything from the furniture, flooring, to even kitchen utensils are of great quality. We travel with our toddler and were pleasantly surprised to find a pack n play in the spare bedroom - that has literally NEVER happened and this was my 2 year old's 7 trip to Gulf Shores/Frt Morgan area. The lock on the gate at the top of the stairs was a beautiful touch as well. Our daughter played on the front porch and loved the freedom!

We were surprised with the location of the house to the beach, it's literally 200 feet (YES, we counted). The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The owners were quick to respond, willingness to help with random questions prior to our arrival - wonderful.

We have found our new home away from home and will absolutely be repeat customers. I cannot document how much we loved the property. My husband literally joked about wanting to rent the property full time because he loved it so much!

We will be back!

Turtle season is here!!! 🐢

𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝗮 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗺𝗮!🐢
Three species of sea turtles nest on Alabama's Gulf Coast: Loggerhead, Kemp's Ridley, and Green sea turtles. Our most common nesting sea turtle here in Gulf Shores is the Loggerhead. At night, female Loggerheads will emerge from the Gulf to lay about 120 eggs in their nest and then return to the water. Baby sea turtles grow inside these eggs, and once they are all ready, they hatch and crawl out of their nest together. Just like their mama, Loggerhead turtles prefer nighttime, so they leave their nest, follow the light reflecting off the water from the moon, and crawl towards the Gulf in the dark.

It is important we help protect these sea turtles by doing the following:
🔦 Avoid using flashlights or flash photography on the beach at night. If you do use a light at night, please use red filter lights.
💡 Turn off outside patio lights and shield indoor lights from shining onto the beach at night.
🥚 Do not disturb sea turtle nests.
↔️ Keep your distance (at least 30 feet) from adult turtles that come onto the beach to nest.
🐢 Leave sea turtle tracks undisturbed.
👣 Leave Only Footprints! Do not leave beach gear, holes, or trash on the beach.
