Full Moon Paddle - Wolf Bay
Sunday, August 18, 2024
Registration is open for the last Full Moon Paddle of the summer season. The City of Orange Beach Wind & Water Learning Center will host another Full Moon Paddle on Sunday, August 18th. Each event features dinner on the grounds, supplied by an area restaurant and musical entertainment. After enjoying the food, entertainment and meeting new friends everyone heads out to paddle Wolf Bay.
August 18th will feature dinner provided by Alabama Coastal Catering and entertainment by Ben Lake. Register for the Just a reminder...August 18th Full Moon Paddle on Eventbrite.

Registration fee is $35 per person. Participants must bring their own kayak, PFD & white light (headlamps work best). Everyone must be pre-registered before each event.

All funds raised benefit the Baldwin County Child Advocacy Center. Additionally, anyone can donate and support this effort.

💀 Sign up now before rates increase for the Haunted Hustle 5K, Fun Run, and Witches on Wheels parade coming up on Saturday, October 19th! 💀
The night will kick-off at the Gulf Place Public Beach Town Green with a DJ spinning some spooky tunes! Witches will take their brooms (or bikes) for a ride to remember at 6pm followed by the Fun Run at 6:30pm. The main event, the Haunted Hustle 5K, will begin shortly after at 7:10 p.m.
For those who do not wish to participate in the Haunted Hustle 5K, Fun Run, or Witches on Wheels, we still encourage you to come out in your favorite Halloween costume to watch the parade and catch all the throws from our exclusive viewing area! Come enjoy spending time with friends and family, listen to our live DJ, kids activity area, and enjoy festivities we have lined up starting at 4 p.m.
Proceeds to benefit the Dolphin Foundation for Education & Arts .

🍤 The 51st Annual National Shrimp Festival committee congratulates 72-year old Red Owen of Ragley, Louisiana as the winner of our 2024 poster contest.

Along with being a graphic & t-shirt artist for over 40 years, Mr. Owen is a U.S. Army veteran, father of two, grandfather of two, and great-grandfather of five.

Mr. Owen said his inspiration for the poster design was Jimmy Buffett. “It’s an idea I’ve had for a while. I’m proud of it and think it’s the best work I’ve done.”

Born and raised in the New Orleans area, Mr. Owen joked with us that he “wasted his youth” in the French Quarter, where he would often encounter Buffett who was a mere busker at the time. “I’ll never forget he would come down on the weekends in an old Ford".

We've talked to Mr. Owen several times on the phone and he's very excited about getting the chance to come experience the festival and our area!
