Don't you hate it when you go to rent a beach condo and then find out the vacation rental company has added extra fees for parking, cleaning, and who knows what else they have dreamed up? All of a sudden that great deal you thought you found- is not so great after all.
NOT at Gulf Shores Getaways. You will pay ONE rate - no extras!

Beach Tip #3
Quick and Easy Lunch/Dinner Ideas
When we are visiting our Gulf Shores Getaways condos, we usually eat out for brunch (Kitty's Cafe has the BEST PANCAKES EVER!) or lunch, and then stay in for dinner so we can eat while watching the sunset from our balcony. Here are some quick ideas we love to use:
Tortillas + deli meat + lettuce + cheese - rollup and cut for pinwheels
Jack Daniels Heat n Eat BBQ + King's Hawaiian rolls = BBQ sliders
Rotisserie Chicken + Cheese Dip (mix together) + Tostito's = Chicken Nachos
Microwave Baked Potatoes + Shredded Cheese + Leftover BBQ or Chicken = Loaded Baled Potato
Publix Greenwise Margherita Flatbread + extra mozzarella + chicken , BBQ or pepperoni

Grocery Pick Up

When we are visiting Gulf Shores Getaways, we make a list of groceries we will need while we are there. The day before we leave we place a Walmart online order (just choose the Gulf Shores location) and choose a pick up time. Less time spent shopping means more beach time. Rouse's Market and Target also offer this service. You may also want to check out https://www.thebeachmoms.net/ for assistance.

Headed to Gulf Shores this summer? Enjoy some Pro Tips this week to make your vacay less stressful - I mean, you are supposed to enjoy your vacation, am I right?

1st TIP - Get to know the rules and regs for our beautiful Gulf Shores beaches. Some of these include leaving only footprints after dark, and making yourself familiar with the flag warning system.
Double Red Flags=Water Closed!! Please don't chance it. We were there a few years ago when someone did, and it did not have a happy ending - it haunts me to this day!

Day 6 - Kid Fun at the Beach: Beach Clean Up activity
Adult Supervision Needed for this activity!
Talk to your children about the importance of keeping the beaches clean for all of us - especially our sea creatures. Let them pick up any trash they find along the shore (again adult supervision please!) and place it in the trash cans/recycling bins that Gulf Shores provides on their beaches. They can also help to fill in any holes left on the shore - this will help protect all of the sea turtles that use our beaches to lay eggs.

We hope that on your next stay in Gulf Shores you will have a chance to try out some (if not all) of the kid-friendly activities we have posted about this week.

Day 5 - Kid Fun at the Beach: Bubbles

Who doesn't love bubbles? Even more fun at the beach!
Grab some bottles from the nearest dollar store and get ready for miles of smiles!
You will make fast friends once these start blowing in the breeze.

Day 4 - Kid Fun at the Beach: Sandman Snowman

We live in Middle Tennessee, so we don't usually get enough snow for building a snowman. This idea appealed to me as soon I saw it on the teacherexpertise website. This would also make a really fun holiday card photo.

Day 3 - Kid Fun at the Beach - Musical Towels

Remember playing Musical Chairs? Same idea - but with towels! Use 1 less towel than there are kids. Let the music play; pause, and everyone quickly sits on a towel. The child left without a towel to sit on is out.

I feel like this could be a fun game for the adults too!

Day 2 - Kid Fun at the Beach: Sand Darts (Free Version)

Yes-you can buy the bean bags if you want, but why not keep it simple?
Use a stick, shell, or whatever you have handy to draw your own dartboard in the sand. Then, toss shells (maybe those masterpieces you created yesterday?) onto your board. You can easily differentiate the level of difficulty for this activity based on the ages of your children.

1-Get that kid energy out by going on a seashell hunt.
2- Later in the day when the kids may need a little downtime (at the beach or back at the condo) grab the watercolor paints and let your children's inner creativity go wild!

Don't you love it when you get new furniture (not the bill...just the furniture)? 😁
We just updated the furniture in the living area of our 3rd floor condo. You can sit in that chair all day and watch the waves roll in 🌊. The sofa 🛋 converts into a queen sleeper 🛏 - so comfy! It has 3 separate cushioned areas built in - no more poor excuse for a mattress- Yay!
The ottoman includes a storage area - you will find bedding for the sleeper sofa inside.

In addition to our beaches, Gulf Shores has plenty of other activities for visitors to enjoy. The Gulf State Park offers hiking and biking trails, as well as a fishing pier. The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo provides up close and personal with Animal Encounters for families. The Cold Mil Fleet Dolphin Cruise at Bear Point Marina is hands down the best way to see dolphins jump and play in their natural habitat. The cruise provides what Cold Mil Fleet calls “DOUBLE SURF” where their boats run beside each other to create a wave for the dolphins to play and surf! Try a daytime or sunset cruise - you will not be disappointed!
