A beautiful view looking south from the top of Cook Mountain. This is a great trail off of Baldwin Road. You can see Anthony’s Nose on the left, and then Friend’s Point, Flirtation Island, Hague Bay and then on down to Silver Bay and Sabbath Day Point. You can just see Odell Island on the left. Sugar Loaf on the left and Black Mountain the tallest mountain in the center. SThanks for a great shot!

Many of your are familiar with the beautiful Adirondack photography of Carl Heilman. What a beautiful photo he chose to share in honor and support of Ukraine. A stunning view looking towards the Adirondack High Peaks. 💙💛💙

I picked a photo with a 'hopeful feeling' that has predominant yellow and blue tones to express our support for the people of Ukraine. My grandfather emigrated to the US from the Ukraine region after having fought in WW1. He eventually bought a farm property and settled here in Brant Lake because it reminded him of his original home in eastern Europe. We support Ukraine in it's fight against this unprovoked attack by an autocratic ruler on it's people and their democracy and freedom.

We need to catch up! We hope you all had a safe and happy 4th of July! Our fireworks that are always on the 3rd were canceled, because the park was too wet. They are scheduled for this Sunday the 11th!! We are still recovering from the Gypsy Moth invasion. I would not have believed it unless I saw it! We are looking forward to a quiet and uneventful rest of the summer. Can’t wait to see you at the lake!

When we stop to remember that it is not a day off. Not a long weekend. Honor the fallen. And think of of their families, of the loss and sacrifice. Of the good that could have come from those lives lost. Work everyday towards peace on earth so their deaths will not have been in vain. Let us truly beat our swords in to plowshares.

We’ve been HOME in Hague over a week! After a long winter’s rest we are happily back in Hague and busy getting everything ready for our summer guests. We hope that’s YOU! Here was our first Spring view of the Lake. We are waiting for you !

Great photos of the Polar Plunge “Freezin’ for a Reason” today in Hague. Sadly, this year’s event is in memory of Katy Wells, who established this annual event and dedicated it as a fundraiser for the Vermont Children’s Hospital. Our Island View neighbor Katy passed away suddenly in January at the age of 54. Katy could always be seen at the end of the family dock in the summer, enjoying the lake with her friends and family. When she wasn’t spending time with her family she was volunteering with the Hague Volunteer Fire Department, or enjoying her passion of cooking delicious food. A light went out in Hague. The plunge takes place at the Trout House dock, and you can see Island View off to the far left. To keep her memory alive, donations towards this year’s Polar Plunge can be made here:

This summer brought more than any one of us could have ever expected. For us personally it was a year of unexpected events and personal losses. Through it all the blessing of our Island View family and friends helped us through. Thank you for every kindness big and small along the way. It means more than we can express in words. Thank you to all who stayed and took extra care to insure the health and well being of all. Our regrets to those who had to cancel. We truly missed you and look forward to your return. Our 2020 season has ended, and yesterday we took some time to enjoy Island View ourselves. The lake was calm and serene, and the temperature was mild. Here are a few photos. Grateful for you our guests, and for the beauty of Lake George that binds our hearts. Be well until we meet again.

Couldn’t wait to share this spectacular photo our guests took today on their hike up Roger’s Rock. You can see why they call the area on the left “Heart’s Bay.” Late summer and fall hiking is the best! So many trails, never enough time. We have some great availability in September and into mid October. Lace up those hiking boots!
