We just finished our Lofgreen family reunion at Haigler Creek Lodge. It was sasquatch themed with an invitation featuring an 1800s photo illustration of the Lofgreen clan posing with Bigfoot. We made a puzzle with the photo.
We had a Bigfoot Beauty Contest complete with Sasquatch costumes, Mogollon Monster Story Time, Bigfoot Hunt, Harry and the Henderson movie, Bigfoot Kickball, and a Yeti Pinata. We even planned a Sasquatch Sing Off (karaoke) and Bigfoot Stomp (family dancing) but ran out of time.
People went hiking, fishing and exploring. We played basketball, badmitton, card games, and everyone's favorite, secret Hi**er.
Kids had a blast playing in the creek, panning for gold, building forts, and chasing adults away from their fort with sticks. Someone said Josh found a fleck of gold (fool's gold maybe).
Adults sat around the fire pit telling funny and occasionally embarrassing stories about each other and our mom and dad. We cooked, ate, napped, ate, and laughed a lot.
We reacquainted, talked, reconnected, and remembered what family is all about. And ate and laughed a lot more.
We had evening rainstorms and wonderful summer breezes. I even saw the deer and squirrels playing under the apple trees.
Now for a quick marketing pitch - we have the last weekend in July open and a few weeks in August, September, October, and November available as well. We can help you plan your family reunion or get-together. We have lots and lots of ideas and the best place to do it. Message me, let's talk!!
