Unexpected Nighttime Magic at The Hideaway

Sometimes, life has a way of surprising you in the most delightful ways. This past weekend, after a relaxing Sauna & Tub session, we decided to sit by the fire, embracing the misty, rainy evening. Just as we were settling in, we looked up and noticed a few stars beginning to peek through the clouds.

To our amazement, the sky suddenly opened up, revealing a breathtaking view. We quickly turned off all the lights to fully immerse ourselves in this unexpected light show. Here's a shot we captured just before the clouds rolled back in.

When we bought The Hideaway, we knew the kitchen needed a serious makeover. The cabinets were painted and doorless, and the countertops were mismatched. So, we gutted it down to the drywall and started fresh!

We revamped the flow, added new cabinets, and topped them with sleek concrete countertops. Installed a new sink, a dishwasher, and a microwave, and to top it all off, a cool retro fridge. We even turned the old kitchen bar into a real bar. Now, it's a space that’s as functional as it is stylish, perfect for cooking and hanging out.

The Kitchen Now & Then ➡️

When we started the renovation on The Hideaway we knew the Kitchen had to be taken down to at least the drywall. We removed all the old cabinets and replaced them, poured new concrete countertops, and added new/old Barnwood exposed shelving for the coffee and bar, and new lighting 💡

We know the Kitchen is a gathering place, and we hope our guests make so many memories here at The Hideaway 🤙

The Kitchen Bar 🍸

The perfect place to hangout without getting in the cooks way, truly the best of both worlds.

Cool story behind the art piece of Keuka Lake 🖌️ It was imagined and crafted by our cousins as a gift, this past Christmas. We haven't found the perfect spot for it just yet, but give us a week or two and I think we will have everything in place 🙌

The Living Room: How it's going 👉 How it started 🤙

When we started the renovation the railing on the lofted space went straight across, leaving a very small galley walkway between the bedroom and common area. We wanted both spaces to have a private area. We also wanted to use the chimney to mount a canoe since Keuka means Canoe Landing.

We also want to have as much living space available, so we added a wall for the TV to be mounted on which allowed the couch to go against the wall.

Where we are 👉 Where we were.

When we first saw The Hideaway the front deck was completely destroyed, and there was no salvaging it. When we did the re-design the focus was an expensive space with multiple levels, and accessible. We are very happy with the results!
