Most flights arrive in the early morning and your room may not be ready for you. This morning, board a glass-top boat for a delightful cruise of the winding canals for an up-close view of stately historic mansions, 16th century gabled merchant houses, and charming churches with bell towers. In the afternoon, travel to Volendam, a quaint fishing village on the old Zuiderzee, surrounded by a picture-perfect harbor lined with wooden houses. You'll view a historic windmill* and resident who still wear traditional Dutch clogs, aprons, and bonnets. Then, travel to a local cheese farm and learn about the process. Depart Amsterdam and travel through Holland's open fields, crisscrossed with canals and windmills to Brussels, capital of Belgium. Here, you'll see the Heysel Stadium and the Atomium, a gigantic structure that still remains from the 1958 World Expo. Continue to view the Palace of Justice, Opera House, Royal Palace, Grand Place and the famous Manneken P*s fountain. Next, journey to the city of Bruges, also known as the "Venice of the North", home to some of Europe's best-preserved medieval buildings. Tonight dinner is in a local restaurant

Continue past the Market Square with its 13th century Belfry, one of Bruges' most famous landmarks. and the Town Hall Square with its Chapel of the Holy Blood. Arrive in Iceland, meet your Tour Manager and transfer to Reykjavik. Your flights should arrive between 6 AM and 8 AM. Your tour begins with a refreshing breakfast at Bryggjan Brugghus*. Afterward, visit the Aurora Reykjavik: The Northern Lights Center. Gain insight into the Northern Lights during a guided tour through the interactive exhibits and learn how to capture them on camera. Then, take a panoramic drive past the Old Town Center, Parliament, the Cathedral, the bustling harbor area, Hofdi House, and Hallgrímskirkja Church, with its striking steeple. Stop at the Pearl vantage point for great views of the capital area and beyond. Continue to the peaceful village of Hella and check into your hotel, which is situated far from city lights, making it an ideal place to view the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) when the skies are clear. DAY 3, Wednesday - South Shore Adventure
Today, visit the Lava Center in Hvolsvollur with its interactive exhibits and astonishing imagery. Next, travel along the South Shore, admiring the gorgeous mountain views including snow shrouded Hekla, the country's most active volcano, as well as the famous Eyjafjallajökull Volcano. Continue through the region where one of the best known of the Icelandic classical sagas, Njál's Saga, is set. Stop at the spectacular Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, tumbling over high rock escarpments. Savor lunch at a local restaurant before passing through Vik, Iceland's most southerly village. Make a stop at Dyrhólaey, a magnificent rocky headland with dramatic sheer cliffs with views of south Iceland's black sand coastline, before returning to Hella. Dinner tonight is at your hotel

Explore today some of Iceland's most renowned natural wonders. Begin at Gullfoss (The Golden Waterfall), one of the most impressive waterfalls in Europe with thousands of tons of icy water tumbling majestically into a deep gorge. Then, on to the Geysir area with its numerous hot springs, fumaroles and geysers, including the world-famous Strokkur Geysir. Watch it erupt every few minutes spewing hot water high into the air. Head for lunch at the family-run Friðheimar Greenhouse, a unique cultivation center. You'll be astounded by the magic behind growing delicious, pesticide-free tomatoes and cucumbers with the aid of geothermal heat. A short and informative talk is followed by a tomato tasting At the remarkable geological and historical area of Þingvellir, visit the site of the world's oldest democratic parliament founded in 930 AD, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. DAY 3, Monday - Athens City Tour
This morning is at leisure, or join the optional guided tour of the Acropolis. This architectural masterpiece was built during the Golden Age of Athens and today is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For passengers who opt not participate in the optional tour, transportation has been included to meet the Tour Manager and the rest of the group at the Acropolis Museum. Visit the museum, built at the base of the famous monument, housing many of the precious original statues from the Acropolis. After lunch on your own, join the Tour Manager for a walk through the lively Plaka area, the oldest section of Athens, a neighborhood of charming restaurants, shops and sidewalk cafes. Continue by bus to Syntagma Square. Upon arrival, you might catch a glimpse of the colorfully-costumed Evzone guards, outfitted in the traditional Greek style. Tonight, consider joining the optional dinner in Athens. Begin the evening with a panoramic drive through illuminated Athens. Visit the Acropolis of Mycenae and the Tomb of Atreus, built around 1250 B.C. From here, drive through the Central Peloponnese Peninsula, whose major cities in classical times were Corinth and Sparta. Continue to Olympia, birthplace of the first Olympic Games

Morning visit to the archaeological site of Olympia, including the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, and the ancient stadium where the Olympic Games were first held in 776 B.C. At the archaeological museum view astonishing Greek works of art such as the Nike of Paionios and terracotta statues dating back to the 5th century B.C. Visit a local store, where you will have a chance to taste local olive oil and spices. Then, drive north through the plains of Eliad and Achaia, crossing the Corinth Strait via a cabled bridge from Rion to Antirion. Temple of Apollo, site of the most important oracle in the classical world. Afterward, travel south and arrive in Athens in late afternoon. Tour the magnificent archaeological site of Ephesus, home to the Library of Celsus and Fountain of Trajan. Spend free time in Kusadasi before returning to the ship in time for lunch and departure at 1 PM. At 5 PM, arrive in Patmos. This small island is steeped with an intense spiritual character, which inspired St. John the Divine to write the Book of Apocalypse. A large monastery in his name dominates the landscape above Chora, the island's capital, surrounded by strong fortress-like walls. DAY 3, Thursday - Venice City Tour
The discovery of Venice begins with a boat ride to the Island of Murano, known for its artistic and colorful glassware. Visit one of the factories to witness the art of glassblowing. Afterward, continue to the main Venice island and take a walking tour with your local guide through the maze of narrow alleyways and bridges before reaching St. Mark's Square. Upon reaching the square, stop to view its most prominent monuments including the Bridge of Sighs, the pink marble Doge's Palace, and golden Basilica of San Marco, one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. The town is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its significant art and architecture. Its main attraction is the 13th century Basilica di San Francesco, an artistic highlight of medieval Europe containing the sacred relics of St. Francis and Giotto's frescoes.
