I thought this was a really fun way to get reacquainted with the quick service options at the World Showcase. With festival season running as often as it does, the regular quick service restaurants are often overlooked.

We did a scavenger hunt where each person had to run to their country, grab something from the quick service, and bring in to our meeting point in the American pavilion so we could all taste the offerings.

My personal favorite was the shrimp tempura ramen from Katsura Grill in Japan.

One of our retreat activities was to have our “Best Disney Day Ever” and we really did! Seven of us rope dropped Animal Kingdom so we could do 4 parks in 1 day. We met the rest of our crew at Hollywood Studios where took over the day and orchestrated a fabulous VIP tour of the remaining parks culminating at the private viewing area for Happily Ever After. We rode rides, met characters, had snacks, shopped (shhh don’t tell our better halves!), and enjoyed Cameron’s company as much as we enjoyed each others’! Thanks again, Cameron, for an amazing tour! I think we all agreed it was the fastest six hours of our lives 😆, but it was a day we’ll never forget!

Sure Animal Kingdom Lodge is beautiful and the animals are amazing and the food is delicious. But the real secret sauce is the cultural representative program. This is Bryt from Zimbabwe and you might get to talk to him if you can make your way to Jambo House before September. I think we talked to him for about 45 minutes and he shared all kinds of wonderful stories about his country with us.

When you have a great conversation like this with a cast member, always remember to scroll down to the cast compliment section in the app and notify Disney that a cast member went out of their way to add something special to your day. You might just make their day as well!!

We took an opportunity for some state-dependent learning. We visited Animal Kingdom Lodge to share stories about the space, talk about the amazing activities offered at this resort, and talk about the types of rooms, restaurants, and shopping that our clients can experience when they stay here.

During our agency retreat at Walt Disney World, we tried to focus our limited park time on experiencing things that were new to our agents, even to those who have visited Walt Disney World many times before!

One of these experiences was Winged Encounters, which occurs near the Tree of Life periodically throughout the day. After leaning about the endangered status of Macaws, Disney’s bird trainers call them in from all over to assemble near the tree. It’s an amazing sight to see these real life Tiki Room birds assemble before your very eyes!

In the summer, it’s important to ride Kilimanjaro Safaris early in the day because as the heat builds through the afternoon, the animals get a bit sluggish. We rope dropped Kilimanjaro Safaris and WE GOT TO SEE TUCKER THE BABY GIRAFFE!!! 😍😍😍
And we got some really nice big cat shots.

We’re really loving all of the roaming characters this summer at Walt Disney World! This is something that Disneyland does so well. It’s nice to see the concept switch coasts. It’s great to be able to queue for a one on one character interaction, but it’s also fun to be surprised by who you see wandering the parks—especially at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios where we saw the following characters roaming freely:

Donald Duck
Chip & Dale
Pluto

Rallying the troops for rope drop by private bus! Minnie van transportation can be booked in the Lyft app for rides around Walt Disney World property (and to/from the airport for club level and VIP tour guests). Minnie Vans can accommodate 6 guests and carry two car seats at all times.

When you choose a large resort like Old Key West, having an alternative to the bus (or even to the boat) can feel like the best $30-60 you spend for the day! I did the math and for this trip, because if the size of our group, a few strategic Minnie Vans were actually less expensive and more convenient than renting a car.

We had a pretty nice room for our agency retreat at Walt Disney World this past weekend, but we didn’t see very much of it! We were on the MOVE learning about some of the best resorts at Walt Disney World and exploring new tips to bring to you for your next family vacation.

This is Old Key West, which as you can tell from the photos, we mostly saw in the dark. Our 2BR until could sleep up to 9 with two full baths (including a whirlpool tub for soaking your feet after a full day in the parks), a full kitchen, and a lovely private balcony.

Every resort has pros and cons and this one is fairly large and spread out. The 7, 8, & 9 guest sleeping spaces are on file our couches and chairs rather than the nice Murphy beds that are available at most Disney resorts. Depending on your location, it can be a hike to the pool/main building (but the sandcastle pool is AWESOME). Also, food options here are pretty much done by 10pm. And there are no elevators—even for the third floor rooms. BUT! It’s a beautiful resort with a super low key theme.
