A couple dilemmas occurred this morning. 1) it was going to be been a rainy day!!! 2) If we switch locations, what do we do about lunches? 3) There is only room for one of my carry-arounds... camera or binoculars. The binoculars won!

It drizzled and lightly rained. Not a downpour until lunch. We were inside for it.

We explored Oak Openings Metro Park and Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge instead of Magee due to rain and winds.

It was still a fun day birding, not so many species seen.

Save the date! November 3-5, 2023 York Audubon is headed to Chincoteague, Assateague, Kiptopeke and Eastern Shore of Virginia for a fall birding/nature photography trip. Information is available on the York Audubon Society website and Naturestabler Explorations site.

The bus will leave West York at 8:45am, with a stop in Shrewsbury to pick up more folks. We will see wildlife refuges, state parks and national seashore sites during our trip.

The Refuge Inn will be our resting spot between treks. The fall migration of waterfowl and late songbirds will be around for viewing. And don't forget the horses! Can't forget that they will be around for pictures too!

Allow the logistics to be taken care of for you, so that you can soak up these natural areas without worry!
