The search for truth is Felosi's passion, and he has interviewed scores of people with firsthand accounts of paranormal or cryptid experiences that are prevalent in the hills of Eastern Kentucky. f his greatest interests is the field of electronic voice phenomena (EVP) and the use of instrumental trans-communication research. Felosi's research also delves into the heart of Appalachian Mountain culture and folklore with the stories obtains through research and investigations. In 2017, Felosi filmed several projects about paranormal locations in Harlan County, most of which available on Amazon Prime and other streaming services. His films have been watched tens of thousands of hours around the world. In 2020, Tony Felosi and Darla Jackson wrote the true crime book, The Manzo Shepherd Story, about a brutal murder that took place in Harlan County in 1942. The story has many twists and turns but nothing more interesting than the fact that one of the murderers was his great uncle - something that was discovered after the book was published. In July 2020, Felosi and Jackson helped provide locations, logistics, and interviewees for the 2020 filming of Expedition Bigfoot from the Travel Channel. The entirety of Season Two of this popular series was filmed in Harlan County and surrounding areas. Author, Darla Saylor Jackson, has written four books including the popular “Harlan County Haunts” series. Her first book, “Harlan County Haunts,” highlights the Mountain Jane Doe murder which sparked new interest and the final solving of the decades-old cold case. Darla Jackson took part and narrated the Emmy Award Winning, “The Dead Unknown,” a four-part documentary featuring the journey of solving the Mountain Jane Doe mystery as well as other cold cases. Darla is the owner of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home in Harlan, KY, Raven Rock Trading Co. in Cumberland, KY, and co-owner of Mountain Gypsy Herbs, Inc., a bath and body company focusing on herbal, all natural products using locally grown and foraged ingredients. She is a fourth year psychology major at Midway University in Midway, Kentucky and in her spare time enjoys ruby mining in NC and writing about the paranormal. She teaches art and journaling to women inmates in Kentucky prisons, and is a certified community scholar. She has worked with Berea College’s Promise Neighborhood program and was an artist in residence with the Kentucky Arts Council for 10 years in a double genre of Folk Art and Literature.
