10/18-10/19: Fall Crawl- Get ready for an adrenaline-filled weekend at Black Mountain Off-Road Adventure Area! The Fall Crawl is coming October 18th-20th, bringing rock crawlers and off-road enthusiasts together for an epic weekend of adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned driver or just love the thrill of the ride, this is the perfect time to hit the trails and explore the rugged beauty of Black Mountain. 10/18: Fright Night Free Spooky Film Festival- You’re invited to the Fright Night Film Festival on Friday October 18th at the Harlan Center. Snack on free drinks and popcorn while you watch horror films of all kinds. Movies begin at 4 p.m. and will keep you on the edge of your seat until 1:30 a.m. Drop in for your favorite or dare to watch from beginning to end! 10/18: Monster Dash 5K- Run for your life at this Halloween themed 5K beginning at the Harlan Center at 7 p.m. Presented by Harlan Tourism & Finish Vertical CrossFit.
10/18: Rockin’ Round the Christmas Tree- In the midst of all the fall fun, don’t forget that Christmas will be here soon. Join Willing Hearts Clay Art Studio in Cumberland to paint their very popular ceramic Christmas Trees. The fun begins at 6 p.m. Go to willingheartsinc.org to reserve your spot before all of the trees are taken!
10/19: Downtown Harlan Vintage Fall Fest- You’ll enjoy live music, vendors, food trucks, games, photo ops, costume contest, a raven’s egg hunt, ghost walk, and more all on the beautiful courthouse square in downtown Harlan. The fun goes from noon to eight!
10/19: Free Hayrides- During the Downtown Harlan Vintage Fall Festival, you can enjoy FREE hayrides from noon to 8 p.m. to a downtown pumpkin patch where you can select a free pumpkin while supplies last! Hayrides are sponsored by Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH)
10/19: Downtown Harlan Ghost Walk- Bloody Harlan Tours, LLC invites you to hear unusual stories about the usual places. Many of the places we visit every day have chilling stories of the paranormal or true crime. Your knowledgeable guides will lead you on this journey through town and across centuries. The free tour will leave from the Harlan County Courthouse at 7 p.m. The tour is free and there is no registration required. It’s all part of the fun at the Downtown Harlan Vintage Fall Festival!
10/19: Evarts Fall Harvest & Pumpkin Patch- Explore Evarts invites you to Burl Fee Memorial Park from noon to 8 p.m. for vendors, inflatables, hayrides, maze, pie eating contest, axe throwing, rock painting, prize walk, cake walk, costume contests, and more!
10/18-10/20: The Leaves are Lit Mini Golf- The leaves aren’t the only fall colors shining bright at Kingdom Come State Park. Thousands of lights, hundreds of scarecrows, and other fall decorations await you every weekend through Thanksgiving as you play your way through the mountainside mini golf course at Kingdom Come. Don’t miss the hot chocolate, music, and memories just waiting to be made! Play Friday & Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The cost is $3.50 per person.
10/18-10/19: Butcher Holler Spook House- A frightfully good time awaits as you travel to 313 Garrett Hollow in Cranks for this spooky season favorite! The cost is $5 per person. Visit from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
10/18-10/19: Haunted Barn at English Creek Stables- Spooky season comes to English Creek Stables with their haunted barn every Friday and Saturday night from 9 p.m. to midnight all the way through the end of October. They are located across from Harlan County High School on 119.
10/20: Green Dragon Baseball Golf Scramble- Support the Harlan High School Baseball Team while also enjoying a gorgeous day of golf on the beautiful Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Cumberland Kentucky. The cost is $200 per team. Players tee off at 2 p.m.
10/20: Trunk or Treat- The LMU Medical students at ARH invite your family to the Harlan Center Parking Lot for a Trunk or Treat from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
