“From Moo to Marvel: Dairy Cows Power Pennsylvania” The 2025 Pennsylvania Farm Show Butter Sculpture features 1000 pounds of butter depicting a dairy cow alongside a methane digester. After the Farm Show, the butter will be recycled into renewable energy.

Did you know? Cows are superheroes! They provide nourishing milk, upcycle food scraps, enrich the soil, and - through digesters - their waste can be turned into renewable energy.

The 2025 PA Farm Show is January 4-11 with a special PA Preferred Food Court preview starting at noon on Friday, January 3.

The annual Harrisburg Holiday Parade is ✨TOMORROW✨ November 23! Head to downtown Harrisburg for a festive day filled with giant parade balloons, marching band and dance team performances, decorated floats, characters, Santa Claus and more.

ROUTE: The parade steps off at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Front and Market Streets, proceeds on Market St., turns left on 2nd St., turns left on North St., turns left on Front St. and ends where it began at Market St.

🎅🏻After the parade, head to Strawberry Square to meet Santa, enjoy FREE hot chocolate and cookies while supplies last.

Explore the city after the parade to find great places to eat, shop, browse local art, or find sweet treats and craft beer.

About the show: The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

Pennsylvania artists and craftspeople are celebrated through the annual Art of the State exhibit at the The State Museum of Pennsylvania - exhibiting in Harrisburg through January 5, 2025.

The juried exhibit includes 96 works of art by 96 artists from 28 counties of Pennsylvania. Finalists were selected from 2,200 entries submitted by more than 600 artists.

See paintings, photography/digital media, crafts, sculptures, and works on paper.

Art of the State is in its 57th year.
