The Samara Private Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape of South Africa has introduced "fly camping" to its phenomenal safari activities. Together with JMB and Grosvenor Tours, this new experience allows guests to explore the over twenty-eight-thousand-hectare reserve on foot before spending a night in a mobile camp. The adventure begins with a guided bush walk through the reserve that is home to the Big Five with an armed ranger and tracker. At dusk, guests will be taken to their private camp, where tents have been set up and they will enjoy refreshing sundowners and a traditionally delicious South African braai. The camp is open from October to May each year, excluding December 25th to January 10th and will be for guests who have book a minimum three-night stay in one of the Samara lodges.
