This was us in Fall of 2021. I have been bringing my kids to the Outer Banks since they were babies, renting from friends and online websites, finally taking the plunge and investing in property here. We take all of the extra rental income and invest it back into the property. One thing for sure, the salt and sand create wear and tear and insuring against the elements (hurricanes and the like) has gotten quite expensive. But we love it here and look forward to spending time here in the off-season.

Sad to be turning over the house to rental season, definitely my happy place. Added some new coastal themed carpets, new Yellowfin tuna and Bluefin tuna in the corresponding bedrooms, replaced all the cookware with some stunning non-stick All-Clad cookware, and miscellaneous other upgrades. Mike is close to having the pool and hot tub all cleaned up and sealed. New mattresses in 5 of the 6 bedrooms. The house is ready! Beautiful day on the beach in Hatteras. Dressed warmly and took these guys out to chase some tennis balls my dog and my grand dog. Lots of dolphins the last couple of days after seeing only a few over Thanksgiving. A cold snap is coming later this week and will give a good test to the new heating and cooling systems we put in back in October.
