We are situated on the narrowest strip of Hatteras Island so on the south end of our back deck you have views of both the ocean and sound while on the front deck you can dolphin watch. Don’t forget your coffee☕️ or glass of wine 🍷 in the evening.

Madhatteras just passed 1,000 in likes. We are so excited and honored that so many like our property. Therefore because we have one summer week left, Aug 21-28 we will pay the taxes on that week $254.00 for someone who chooses us and is a follower on fb. We are so grateful ❤️ to all of our guests for the past six years and truly are in awe of the amount of repeat guests that we get every year that have become more than guests we call them friends. Summer is finally here❤️

Mad Hatteras is a 2bd/2ba sleeps 6. We have several weeks left in Aug due to a cancellation and several weeks in Sept and Oct.

All the remodeling is finished. The new bathroom is beautiful. We also have a beautiful new window in the loft master bedroom and finally all the deck furniture arrived.
A huge thanks to my hubby for all the tiling work and Stephanie Kiker Designs for the beautiful decorative tiles. My design came out as awesome as I envisioned it. One of a kind!!!

We still have a few August weeks to fill. Also some Sept-Nov weeks. Sept-Oct-Nov weeks are quieter, less expensive and the weather is fantastic. We would love to welcome you.

This was taken from our front deck. Sandwiched between the ocean and sound we are feeling the effects of the storm on both sides. The roar of the wind and waves is crazy besides the fact that the building sways. Life on a barrier island!

Larry and I are here doing some remodeling in our upstairs bath. It’s going to be beautiful 🙂 and definitely one of a kind. We are so excited to share the final pics with you.

We also have a brand new bedroom window so that you can listen to the waves as you are lulled to sleep. I wanted to share the beautiful waves today as the wind is coming off the ocean. Taken from our front deck!!!

Beach is quiet and serene. Great for shelling, surf fishing or just reading a good book as you sunbathe. You get the best of both sound and ocean. Watch the sunset over the sound with the sound only three feet away, kayak or wind surf. Watch the sunrise over the ocean as dolphins swim south right in front of you.

Hi Mad Hatteras friends,

Summer is in full swing. We hope everyone got the vacation rental and week that they had their heart set on. No matter where you stay in the OBX make lasting memories, be patient and kind to those who work hard to make your vacation enjoyable, tip well and remember the OBX will only stay as pristine and beautiful as it is if we the caretakers and guests continue to take care of her

1. Take garbage with you when you leave the beach.
2. Fill in holes
3. Don’t walk on the dunes or pull out dune grass it is the only defense against storms and hurricanes.
4. Try to do a kind gesture for someone each day. You may make someone else’s lasting memory.

Last night we decided to go after dark to see the Hatteras lighthouse. Great decision. It is awe inspiring and beautiful in the dark. Best of all we were the only ones there. A must do for all lighthouse lovers. FYI- There is now a cam at the top of the lighthouse so you can watch from home.

The winds were gusting to 35mph today. It brought out all the kiteboarders which gave us a great water show on the beach. And no one on the beach! The advantage of being next to the Cape Hatteras National Seashore❤️

Pink Super Moon ....the April moon got its name after the herb pink moss, also known as creeping phlox because it is one of the earliest flowers to bloom in the spring

Spent the day on the beach watching pods of dolphins jumping and playing in the surf. Only steps to the beach and the best free dolphin watching tour. Then we enjoyed a beautiful sunset off the back deck. We are so blessed and love sharing our special home with guests. Only a few weeks left. madhatteras10.com
