Did you know that Hazlehurst used to have an annual cotton festival? The festival celebrated the cotton harvest season and a crop that has been “king” for decades. In 2023, Jeff Davis County farmers grew over $6.5 million dollars worth of cotton.

While the festival no longer occurs, and the creepy cotton costume no longer makes small kids cry, Cotton farms can still be seen on your visit to Jeff Davis County. To schedule a group farm tour with a local farmer, call our office.
