Since we still cannot take guests to our wonderful winery partners, we thought we’d share an update on our own personal baby vineyard (two of our three vines 😂😂)! They have grown a lot since we last shared their bud break in late March.

Even though we cannot operate any tours right now, we are still answering all calls and emails from home! We are taking reservations for future dates, and selling gift certificates! So if you are dreaming of the day you can come back to wine country to relax, regroup and restock your wine, start making your plans now! That way, we all have something to look forward to!!

Passed our annual vehicle and paperwork inspection today with no issues! Thanks to the CHP for maintaining a safe quarantine distance throughout the process. The wheels of government are still turning!

We are currently not operating our tours (still taking reservations for future dates) due to Covid-19 shelter in place mandates. Thought we would pass this on for those of you missing our wine tours. Hope to see you soon!

At a press conference held today (3/15/20) by CA Governor Gavin Newsom, he has called for further social distancing which includes the temporary closure of all wineries, brewpubs, bars and nightclubs, as well as all people over the age of 65, and those with underlying chronic medical conditions, to isolate themselves at home.

In compliance with that, since our company only provides wine tours, we will have to temporarily closed our doors as well. At this point, the Governor obviously cannot put a time frame on when we can resume, but we will continue to update our status as we all go through this together.

In closing, we are a small family owned and operated company and this will be a challenging time for us, as that now means we will have zero income until we can reopen. However the safety of our guests, winery partners, family and friends are top priority. We will continue to book tours for future dates with the understanding that we might have to cancel them should this situation continue. We will also continue to sell gift certificates.

Stay safe during this time and we look forward to the day we can all return to our normal lives.

We would like to take a quick moment to announce that both us, and the small wineries we tour, are open for business and taking precautions for both ourselves and our guests.

Our goal at Wine Country Journeys has always been to create a comfortable, enjoyable, and safe environment for all our guests. We understand that the spread of COVID-19 has made many people wary of travel, being in public places and just an overall heightened sense of unease.

Our company continues to operate during this time because we are not a large, touristy transportation company. We are a small company and we do just one thing, intimate wine tours in the northern regions of Sonoma County.

No employees – we are a small family owned and operated company.
Small groups – our tours are always kept to just 8 guests our less.
Small wineries – we only tour small family owned or boutique wineries, so no large crowds.
Clean vehicles – all of our vehicles have leather seats and are cleaned after every tour.

“Social distancing” is definitely a great practice to help slow the spread of COVID-19. But don’t forget that too much “social distancing” can have a negative effect on your mental health. So if you are feeling isolated, need a change of scenery or just simply need a little time out doing something that doesn’t involve large crowds, take a tour with us. Enjoy the the beautiful views, some conversation and comforting wine.
