October colors washing across our wine country now. Harvest 2024 has reached her crescendo with the beautiful fruit now home. A chill in the air accompanied by days framed with blue skies...Majestic!
This season has been witness to many a weather pattern. The vineyards, hillsides and wineries themselves have served up many a memorable moments. Time for you to grab some living and enjoy what we here already know...Change is a constant and life awaits no one.

Today was a very good day as is every day here in wine country. July sweeps us up in a steady heat to move our vines along to that beautiful harvest. Grape clusters are almost at full growth as veraison is soon to be. The ripening of sugar development and that magnificent color change days to a week or two away now.
Stay strong, healthy and vibrant as these spectacular vineyards. This season let's all celebrate together with much more love, peace and understanding. Looking forward to seeing ya's again soon! Until then...It's a beautiful day...Cheers! 🍷🍇🌞

The rains have moved on...Aquifers and reservoirs brimming with water...Memorial Day Weekend is upon us now.
May is such an incredibly magnificent journey with the vineyards ready for another spectacular vintage. 2024 has us firmly in her grip. A wonderful time to visit our wine country to relax, unwind, reconnect and explore with friends and family.

Lol...Well it's been said that the rains were so heavy that...It was raining 'Cats & Dogs'! This afternoon no cats...However...My two compadres Kasey Girl & Leo Boy enjoyed the rain and vineyard romp.
Happiness can be two doggies living in the moment while throwing in a bit of mud and puddles. Life can be so simple with the very good things such as this. ... And it's February 2024 ... Mustard topcover in full bloom ... Atmospheric river passed through our Sonoma County wine country refilling reservoirs and aquifers ... A few low lying areas flooded with trees fallen and landslides sporadically strewn across the landscape. Through all of this varying weather ... The sheer beauty of California and this region shines like a perpetual mural of color ... Inevitable change the one constant of continuous renewal ... Magic upon us. Never taken for granted.

The realization that of all the places on this Big Blue Marble that I have had the great pleasure to have resided...From the US Virgin Islands to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado ... The allure of those crystal clear waters surrounded by a framing of Sierra Nevada Lake Tahoe to now...Sonoma County wine country with her Redwoods, Wild Coastline and of course Lush & Magical Vineyards...The adventures of a small business owner meeting such a diverse group of clients, winemakers, farmers along with so many interesting people...Friends...The journey continues.
To mention that I am beyond grateful first of all to still be above ground...Magnificent. I hope this finds everyone well, happy and pursuing those adventures. Life is no rehearsal. Stay strong! Peace! 🏆🍇🌞❤✌🎶

Happy New Year and welcome 2023! As 2022 exits our journeys let their be the optimistic promises of a new year leading us forward.
Much needed rain now has us under it's spell with all of her might. We so very much needed rain, however, just not all at once. Our parched vineyards actually have water pooling among the vines. Seasonal streams only weeks ago were dried up and parched now raging torrents. As vineyard retention ponds fill to their peak the Russian River begins to overflow banks. The old lady gray Pacific Ocean is roaring with high rolling waves and tides. Quite the sight to witness. Wild and beautiful!
With this new year I hope that everyone stays strong, healthy and happy. Keep chasing those dreams as time is short. I've lost many a friend in 2022 gone to hopefully greener pastures for eternity. The blink of an eye and we lose so many close to us.
Wishing peace for this sometimes crazy yet beautiful world. Be well! I hope to see you again sometime soon...Until then...🍷❤✌

Harvest 2022 underway now here in wine country. Early season fruit looking absolutely beautiful. Currently a veil of smoke hovers over our vineyard's due to several fires around the state. Later grape harvest is going to be interesting with this smoke filled air?
Always such a beautiful observation of how the majestic grape makes her way through another season. Like the world around us the harsh realities of drought and heat make for a real life struggle. Resilience and perseverance takes hold as we continue to grow and move forward.
Mother Nature's grip remains strong and the same as hopefully you do too. Stay strong and healthy my friends. 2022 may be a challenge, however, we accept that while looking forward for the future. Peace for Ukraine 🇺🇦! Much love! Cheers! JT🍷🍇🌞❤👏

Season of growth with lavender fields and vineyard in full bloom. Fruit set as those beautiful grape clusters develop and soon change colors while developing their sugars. The fragrant whispered scent of lavender fills the air displaying her colorful calm. Sunflowers, vegetable gardens, olive trees all alive and shedding their absolute beauty. April rains have helped invigorate the vineyards as we ready for a new growing season. As the world around us seems to have so much anger and pain...The grape vines remind us of the chance for renewal and harvest.
My 3 legged pal Leo and all of the beauty here in wine country brings a real joy and happiness to every day life.
We have gone from bud break in the vineyards to now fruit set as those magical grape clusters develop. Warmer and longer days keeping our farmers busy with their vines. Soon the rain will disappear until the fall punctuated by heat and plenty of sunshine during our summer months.

2021 you've certainly been a challenge and here we still are...LOL...Another successful season and harvest here in wine country. We have even received rain! Yes! Beautiful and much needed rain! 🌧 The great news is that 2021 is going to be a fantastic year of vintage for your favorite wines from Sonoma County, Napa and Anderson Valley plus Lake County. Sharing a beautiful bottle of wine with family and friends is something to be relished. Resilience, perseverance and a positive outlook moving us forward. Kasey Girl and Leo Doggies enjoying their daily walking adventures. Their combined mission of getting me back in shape and always keeping me amused. They of course have to chase the occasional gaggle of wild turkeys we encounter in the vines too. Silly dogs! A new season of hope and dreams as we continue forward. The postings are a bit slower now as winter's slumber and rain take us by the hand in wine country. I hope this finds everyone well and staying strong during these challenging times.
As the year 2020 draws to a close...Thankfully so...More time to remember friends and family who passed with the reminder...Life Is No Rehearsal. A worldwide pandemic wreaking havoc as businesses either adjust or get shuttered. Challenges abound.
I find myself spending more time with the doggies and isolating in thoughts. Not a bad thing. I am fortunate to live in such a beautiful place as this Sonoma County California. The Vineyard's, Pacific Coast, Redwoods and all around beauty keep me relatively sane...LOL...If ever I actually was! 🤔 Unless you've lived a truly charmed life...And good for you if so...Obstacles and challenges can define who we are and choose to be. Better days lye ahead for all of us. Gotta believe!

Greetings from Sonoma County and our wine country. It's been a while since my last post. Challenges abound and once again we work our way through...Positivity with the knowledge of...Better days ahead!
Thank you First Responders for your hard work and dedication. Thank you for all of the messages and concerns over these last few months. A winery friend of mine said to me that...Being resilient is getting exhausting...Yes...LOL...But we have no other choice. Strength is more than a motto...Perseverance is more than a thought...The ability to summon up that inner beauty that guides us through all of the roadblocks on the journey...Life Is No Rehearsal!

Dog days of August as Leo and I grab a few days escape to the High Sierra. A much needed swim at 8,000ft of elevation. Seemingly as 2020 closes in on one crazy scenario after another...The freedom and beauty of these mountains breathes a true happiness in the soul. Blue skies, Purple mountain majesties, Crystal clear Alpine waters, Snowfields in view as we slip into the lake...Let the mind and craziness be set free if only for a glorious moment. I hope that you have a special place to find peace and even just for a moment...Freedom.
As I post these pics now...We are only minutes from friends who once again are confronted by the devastation of wildfire...Mandatory evacuations are active and in place. Coronavirus rampant in the world around us. Financial stress for so many. Employment and small business impacted. There is only one thing to do...Overcome! Staying strong and healthy while working our way through these challenges. We will come out the other side stronger and better. We just have to hold on and look to each other while remaining positive. Challenges! LOL...We have a few! Enjoy the pictures! Happy July 1st as the vineyard's are in their 'fruit set' stage of growth. Beautiful! I hope this finds everyone strong, safe and healthy! 2020 reminds me of an old rugby saying that I used to lean upon...'That which does not kill us only makes us stronger'. As I drive around with my doggies seeking out trails and secluded beaches along the coast...I recall my own personal challenges overcome...Cancer/quadriplegia with month after month in the hospital, hand severed off and reattached, a stroke and a myriad of challenges...All overcome. Life Is No Rehearsal! How we choose to come out the other side determines our own happiness and gratitude for living. Mother Nature here in wine country with our vineyard's...Always the constant reminder that each season lends her challenges, hope and promise that...No matter...A new season will once again return. Let this time and these challenges make us all better people...Soon...Another harvest...Soon...This COVID-19 Virus will pass...How will we come out the other side? I only hope that I am a better man. I hope that you and yours are healthy, happy and stronger. Another season will once again be upon us. Let's together make it a great harvest of living. 🍷🍇

Been awhile posting for you as like everyone figuring this all out day by day. This is a recent pic while working with photojournalist Erik Castro. Erik is currently working on humanizing the effects taking toll for small businesses dealing with the reality of COVID-19. Statistics and various news reports don't relate the on ground reality of struggle and survival for so many local businesses in our communities. Much more to this story along with the foundations helping with grants to small businesses and their survival. I will post the story as it is published in the near future. Wishing everyone health and safety during this time. Wineries and most hotels along with Bed & Breakfasts are now closed here in wine country. My little wine tour business is also closed down during this horrific pandemic. Please be well and not take any unnecessary chances. Your important to each other and myself.

I just wanted to say 'Hello' to everyone especially now as this Covid-19 Virus is affecting so many. Sonoma County Tourism along with California are on the forefront of developing common sense practices based on science and fact. Wine country is open and looking forward to seeing you and your support. Wineries have begun to address this pandemic with common sense and without hysterical cries.
We face another challenge that together we will overcome. I just got home from a wine tour with a group of ladies from Sacramento. I donated a day of wine adventure and time along with the boys of Judge Palmer/Domenica Amato Wine. This donation was to the 'Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Woman of The Year Event'. Being a survivor myself I know the importance of raising awareness and funds for this campaign against a horrific disease. Thank you ladies for your support.
I realize the importance in times as these to remain positive and proactive. Leadership is set by example and truth. We will overcome and be stronger together for our concerted efforts. Counting down 2019 as only a couple of hours left in this more than wild decade. Looking back at everything that is new and accomplished...All that is perhaps worn and yet comfortably familiar...The loss of friends, loved ones and the harsh reminder of a fragility that only Mother Nature can bring forth...The last day's of a favorite old country store and meeting place...The resiliency and love of a community...Wine adventures with new friends and old acquaintances...It's been a wild ride.
2020 has the promise of new and untold adventures yet to be written. The opportunity to have another year begins with a huge...'Thank You!'. A bridge can be symbolic of the transition from one season to another, perhaps from devastating catastrophe to aftermath and resiliency, the crossing of an obstacle be it land or water and in the case of our wine country...The symbolism of moving forward to another beautiful day of adventure and life. November! You are the bridge! We choose to move forward. We choose new adventures and living!
I/we here in wine country want to first of all THANK...A BIG THANK YOU AND MUCH LOVE TO ALL OF THE FIRST RESPONDERS! These men and women who truly saved and prevented this beautiful area of America from being burned to the ground. No exaggeration! The monster known as 'Kincade' roared and wielded destruction. This community joined together in a unified resolve to support each other. This is the beautiful nature of our wine country included with the vineyard's, history, wine, rugged coastline, lakes, rivers and valleys. Thank you!
Where would this region of California and The United States of America be without the support of YOU! Thank you to all of my clients as friends new and old. Thank you to everyone despite the fires...Who still chose to visit and support wine country and my small business. I could never appreciate ya's more than I do...Thank you!
November is typically the bridge from dry and no rain to wet and plenty of rainfall. Warm to chilly. A change of colors with a palate of many shades. This season we move forward with the again knowing that life can quickly make a turn. We gather ourselves along with each other and ready for new adventures. Life! October has settled in as Harvest 2019 is reaching her glorious end here in wine country. Magic in the air as cooler temperatures filter through the windows and breeze. A season of planting and growth is now transforming to those days of gathering with family and friends. The thoughts of another year will soon turn to memories. Change is in the air.

Today while running errands and shipping wine to friends on the East Coast (Jersey)...I realized that wine is a vessel...The vessel that connects us as friends and family. You can be a high dollar collector of the world's greatest vintages...Or perhaps someone who just enjoys sharing a glass and bottle purchased from the local grocery store. Wine is personal...Meant to be shared and enjoyed by making life just a little bit better. Like a book, A movie, A poem or A song...How you feel when you pour that magical grape is a special moment.
The story of my friends in Jersey who within the last year and a half have gotten married...Purchased their first home together...Welcomed their first child and now await the birth of their second child...And...Loving their 'Poizin' zinfandel at 'Armida Winery' (their favorite). The connection of two people in love and the connection between a daughter and her father as also their favorite wine...Again...The vessel which can connect us with and to a great life lived.

WOWZAAA...August has the heat and she isn't shy about sharing it...LOL...My kind of girl! 🌞 Our vineyards are in a state of 'Veraison'...The berries are changing color and ripening with those sugars and flavor profiles dancing together in a symphony of delicious timing.🍇 Harvest is ready to open her arms for another season of hard work come to fruition. We sometimes forget that 'Wine Country' is in reality 'Farming and 'Agriculture'. Much love and respect to those farmers working the land...Without good fruit there would not be great wine.
August is also a time to celebrate our diversity and respect for each other. Openness for our brother's and sister's who also support small businesses and the local community. Big 'Thank You' to our 'Gay Community' and specifically 'The Lazy Bear Fund'. For decades the gay community has called Guerneville and our wine country home. More than #3,000 of our friends celebrate, dance and financially give back to a place where they feel safe and free to be themselves. A great reminder and recognition that we are all one especially here in wine country. This world can at times be a bit hard and difficult...However...When you visit us here...We will share our love, hard work, happiness and do our very best to make sure that you can embrace the very best of America. 🇺🇸❤🏆

July for me is the reminder of living a full life and remembering the days gone by with friends and family. Driving to the Jersey Shore in the back seat of our family 1966 Chevrolet Impala...My brother's, sister's, Mom and Dad in the front listening to the AM radio station 77ABC with Cousin Brucie on the airwaves...The big speaker located in the middle of the back seat...🎶🌞❤...Visiting my Grandparents in Pt Pleasant and walking the boards of Seaside Heights...Yea...Summer!
We now substitute wine and charcuterie for Lemonade and Cotton Candy (Salt water taffy and so much more)...All gloriously delicious! The heat on our feet...In the air...And the love of living in the moment...Summer! Welcome back for another year of adventure. Time for a summer stroll! Rain, Rain, Rain...Oh you rainy days aplenty! Snow in The Sierra's and amazingly atop our Mayacamas too. Looking ahead to summer growing season as our aquifers and reservoirs replenish themselves.
Lol...On the road to Iron Horse Vineyards there lies a seasonal stream bed (Dry and dusty for most of the year)...We are confronted with a raging torrent coursing down the valley...Rapids and All...The SF Crew and I found that having a large supply of wine and Sirius Satellite Music makes for a great party in the rain while stuck in the mud...Haha...Thanks AAA for pulling us out...Wine Country Adventure! 🍾🤣
