To discover our native roots and experience life through eyes of those who never lost their connection to the land. It's a rediscovery. At one point we were all indigenous to the land we lived on. Then, Empires slowly began to consume every tribe on earth destroying customs, languages and our intimate relationship with land and the ground we stood upon. This happened to white people as well. Just longer ago. Perhaps there was purpose in the uprooting and the break from often restrictive traditions. Our world has seen untold technological advancement because of this obsession with power. But have we gone too far? Is part of our discontent and sickness related to this disconnection?
Going back to Norway in June to rediscover native roots. Even if you don't have heritage in Northern Europe there is something deeply healing about experiencing people that have never lost this connection. What do you think?
