What's National Public Lands Day?💦 🌿

(NPLD) is the largest single-day volunteer event for public lands in the United States. It takes place annually on the fourth Saturday of September. It is organized by the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), in partnership with various federal, state, and local agencies, including the National Park Service (NPS), U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and others. For more information about NEEF, go to: neefusa.org.

The purpose of NPLD is to encourage the stewardship and preservation of public lands, including national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, and historic sites. The day emphasizes the importance of these lands to environmental health, recreation, and cultural heritage.💦 🌿

Looking for a road trip idea? Then check out Brasstown falls in Long Creek SC. This beautiful area is only about 6 miles past the SC line east of Clayton, GA. There are 4 awesome falls in a half mile hike. The trail is easy for the top 2 but the bottom 2 require some effort. Check out page 30 of our guide for more info.
