It is situated on a mountain top among 44 acres of woodlands just north west of the Alpine Bavarian town of Helen in the North Georgia mountains. As a medieval renaissance castle with many accessible high turrets, 1300 foot

defensive wall, and three gate houses, it serves as an educational citadel of epistemology of how life was understood through out the ages and depicted through artistic in multi-media in presentations via murals, sculpture, gardens, discussions and experiences. The surrounding enchanted forest is a botanical display of natural fauna, unusual specimen plants and trees, and restoration of trees not grown there 100's of thousands of years. Also we are attempting to grow food that would allow some degree of self sustaining healthy lifestyle. Facilities will include 28 x 48 Great Hall for meetings, parties, and weddings, craft workshop, small amphitheater, multiple gardens, private gardens, labyrinth, vineyard, ten guest rooms and suites, archery field course, astronomy lab, lookout towers, gift shop, orchard, and more. UHUBURG was begun September 2008 with the clearing of the orchard and mountain top and the building of the road, bridge and utilities. September 2009, the first cornerstone was laid on the East Gate House. At the time of this writing January 2013, the wall is complete with he East and North Gate Houses roughed in and the South Gate House foundation being laid out. It is expected that all the three gate houses will be completed this year and the central main house/keep will be begun. Hopefully, 2015 will be the year of the grand opening to the public

Uhuburg will be closed on Saturday, October 19th for a private event. Join us instead on Sunday October 20! Entrance is open from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m., with the grounds open until 3:00 p.m. Oktoberfest Saturday, Uhuburg Sunday! See you then 🍁🏰

With them comes some reminiscing, because I will always think of Melanie as our first bride. On a cold and rainy morning in December 2022, Melanie, her mother, and I jotted notes and discussed possibilities at a card table in a construction dust filled room with no heat. The gardens were well into winter mode, mud puddled on what are now bricked pathways, and heavy machinery sat where statues now stand. We sat there and imagined the future of Uhuburg as a venue together ~ she trusting me and us to be ready by next fall, and I trusting her flexibility as we ventured into Uhuburg’s first year of opening our gates. With all uncertainties laid out, she decided that THIS is where she and her love would get married the following Fall. For the next 10 months, together we celebrated castle progress and wedding planning. Melanie and Jason are a match in life, and I’ll be ever thankful that Melanie and I were a match as her Event Manager at Uhuburg. It was an honor to host this full-of-love celebration in our first season as a venue!
