From my Memories: down to the North Sea. We had walked 200 miles from the West Coast of England, the Irish Sea, to the East Coast and the North Sea. Tradition has you walk out into the sea. I was so glad to do this because 2 years earlier I had to sit it out as we got in a snowstorm, in June, in the Lake District on the the 5th day and I got chilled and had a relapse of pneumonia. I stayed with the group but did not do any more walking that trip. But when they flew home I flew to Germany to meet my Austrian group and on that particular trip I had to sit it out. I could do other things but not the ALps. When I got home Steve got me to the Harbin Clinic the next day. Skip ahead to Oct 2018 and I am taking these same tights, shirt and Keens with me to Israel to walk some of the Jesus Trail! *

We had just finished our 200 mile walk across England! This was my 3rd time and an anniversary of my first time in the late 1980s. I certainly do have good memories and just wish I could do back and do them again. My mind knew that my time of hoofing it around the world would end but my heart did not.

Come join a small group of 12 for a week in Southern Oregon's Rogue River Wilderness May 26th- June 2, 2020! Imagine rafting and walking the trail of a pristine river that was the 3rd river in the US designated wild and scenic! The Rogue is one of the most dramatic white water rivers in the United States, going from placid to Class IV rapids! Imagine staying in lodges that were uses by the gold rush miners in the early 1900s and are on the National Historic Registry! Imagine being in a place that is so protected and pristine that in the entire 45 miles there are only 125 people a day permitted as hikers/rafters or anglers! This will be our 7th trip and in all that time we found only one cigarette butt on the forest floor! Imagine being able to walk the trail and look down at those on the raft or being on the raft and look up at those on the trail! Two entirely different views of a spectacular river and trail! You can do both of these, or one of the other! Imagine carrying only a day pack with water as wonderful guides carry the rest of your clothes on the rafts! And the days off the river, at the beginning and at the end, are spent at a wonderful lodge that was a fishing lodge for the past 40 years and now it the center for all of this. Here we will have lovely 4 course dinners and great buffet breakfasts. And on the 3.5 days on the river/trail we have super hearty meals as well as picnic lunches on the river beaches! Hard to believe that one can be so deep in the forest that there are no cell phones or electricity but the lodges do have generators and the guides have satellite phones for emergencies. You do not have to worry about getting from the airport at Medford to Morrisons as we will have a noon pickup on the day of arrival and on the day of departure we have a van to take us back to the airport. And the bonus is that we spend our last day in Oregon at the spectacular Crater Lake, a lake in a volcano that is the deepest body of water in the country and the second deepest in the western hemisphere Join us for one of the few spots still open on this trip. The price for all accommodations, all meals with the exception of lunch on arrival and lunch at Crater Lake, all transport, expert guides, and the chance to see wildlife in this river corridor such as beaver, deer, elk, bald eagles, osprey, mallards, cougars and black bear is $2578.55 which is divided into two payments of $1289.27. One is due the end of October and the other is due the end of March, 2020. Spaces are limited and all rooms are twin rooms, no singles. COME EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTY AND EXCITEMENT OF DOING THIS!

Just over a month ago 18 Southern Trekkers did a great trip of 45 miles walking and rafting the glorious Rogue River in Oregon! Staying in historic wilderness lodges along the way, treated to gourmet picnic lunches every day by the river guides who manage to find a sandy cove to set up the food tables and chairs before we came off the trail to find a fabulous lunch each day!! Last day was spent at the incredible Crater Lake! Glorious weather and experiences and each person made 17 other lifetime friends on this trip!

Just wanted to give an update on our Rogue River hiking and rafting trip for June 5-11, 2019. It is totally full but have a waiting list if anyone is interested. It filled in one day so if you did not get to see it that is why because I took it down after that day and put every one of these people on a private Facebook group page called Rogue River Ramblers. That works well so that people can get to know each other before the trip.

Our other trip that has also been thrown out there for interest is to Iceland in 2020. Dates have not been finalized but it will be in June and will be a unique kind of trip. So if you're interested just pop on here and tell me.

Love sending Iceland clients to this awesome hotel!
