Fishing has been on fire the last few days at Rayburn. 9 between 3 and 4 lbs yesterday at Rayburn on frogs and a bonus heavy 6+ here at home in Debbe’s M&D lake.

I have 2 helix 9 gen 3 hummingbirds. Have attempted to load waypoints and boat lanes from another hummingbird chip to my units. One unit accepted the new data with no problem. The second unit will not accept the data and locks up to the point you have to turn off the power and restart it to unlock it. Anyone have any ideas?

First day on the water in a month. Been busy hunting and guiding deer hunters. It was a good day with some solid keepers and this one big girl. All on drop shot and C-rig.Against my own better judgement me and old friend Mike McBurney have signed up for theBrandon Belt $100,000 tornament on Rayburn in February. I haven’t fished a Pro event in over 10 years. I dont know, maybe old dogs should just stay on the porch but we’re gonna go in swinging anyway. Will keep ya’ll posted on how the scouting is going iver the next month.

I have guided Mr Rick Lively at The Hollingsworth Game Ranch for the last 4 yrs. He seems to get a bigger buck each time he comes. Its a great place to hunt and they still have a few MLD tags left fir this year. Call the ranch at 254-386-6615

This past Wednesday was my only fishing day this week. It was a red letter day that only happens a few times in a fishermans life. The wind was howling from the south with 3+ foot seas. On a shallow flat point in 2 to 3 feet somewhere in mid lake there was an o**y of bass and shad feeding in the tops of the whitecaps. I caught 30 before i quit counting and more than that again before it was over. It was so amazing i wish you all could have been there. It was scary fishing and a scarier ride back. I wish at least ine day like that for each of you and big Sam Rayburn is just the place where it can happen.

Better morning today on Rayburn.15 total for 3.5 hrs. Caught most of them on c-rig w/baby brush hawg. Sitting in 15 throwing up into 8 to 12. Red clay points but not all clay points. Only those w/ shad present. Hope this helps eveyone catch a few.
