One of our favorite sections in the store is this table right as you walk in: Blind Dates with a Book! We have a lot of fun curating these titles, wrapping them up, and writing the descriptions that give you just a little bit of a hint of what's behind that paper. This section is ever-changing so you can come in to get set up with many different books as many times as you want!

We have a great double-author event Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM ...and this one is for read-to-me and young readers.

This one is great for young readers. We will have two authors with fresh and imaginative books for read-to-me and young readers.

We are pleased to welcome back author J.W. Becker, Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM. She will be presenting at least three new books.

This author was born in Chicago, Illinois and retired to Henderson, Nevada with her husband, Jeff and two snotty schnauzers.

"Dust, Bones and the Forever" is the first in the series of SciFi thrillers.

Since then, she has been a prolific writer and having read many of her books, I enjoy the variety of stories from Sci-Fi to mystery and a lot in between.....and happily, she will bring many of her titles for you to choose from!

Sorry folks; this event is postponed!

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, this event is postponed. 😿 We do not have a new date yet. In 8 official years of rescue, this is the first time we've had to change an event. We're so sad to disappoint Copper Cat Books and their followers. 😭💔 We were all looking forward to this event. Please stay tuned. Of course we still have lots of sweet kitties needing loving, furrever homes.

We can never get enough of the King! Here are signed copies of Night Shift and Dead Zone!
The dust jackets have a bit of wear and tear (as pictured) but we've wrapped them in a beautiful, protective Mylar to prevent any further damage. These editions join our growing Signed Books collection which include other King titles such as IT, Dolores Claiborne, and The Shining.

just kind of "doing the motions" today; took Simon to be cremated....so painful to lose him...we spend SO much time with our dear pet family!! I am so sad and feel so lost right now.

We lost our dear boy, Simon tonight very unexpectedly. He ate dinner and went up on the cat condo. About ten minutes later, he just started screaming and stretched out. We got him down and he screamed again. We got him to emergency vet but he was already gone. We are heartbroken.

Our Summer Reading Bingo challenge comes to a close in a little more than a week!

I know the post with the Fox news segment seems pretty dire and we are working hard to keep things going but it is not all bad...we just are at a point where we need to go to the "next step" and just don't have the resources to do it.

Sadly, about half of the strip mall on our side is empty with closed businesses and the city said we can't do the "feather flags" that said "WELCOME" and "OPEN SUNDAYS".....so sometimes, I don't think people even know we are open...

All that said, we so appreciate all the support we do get from our customers and just hope that more and more people see us and come by for their book shopping "needs"...(and I do think books are a NEED and not a WANT).....

and with about 30,000 books in the store, almost 60,000 inventoried in our warehouse (and about 300 boxes to still go through)...you don't need to fight over a title!!!

Two female customers were in the store a few days ago and one was looking for a July 1978 issue of a specific magazine. I HAVE an issue for you and a GREAT price....we laughed and giggled quite a bit about naughty and not so naughty silly things but no kidding, I do have the magazine you asked about. So, here you have it; we haven't shared, but we are "challenged" to compete, pay the bills and profit and stay here. We were just setting our anchor in early 2020 when covid changed so much and we just haven't recovered in the way we would have hoped.

We are trying hard to provide a service and product worthy of your time and extra effort to actually come into our shop and hope you will come on by.

With four empty spaces in our strip mall (one is a double), traffic is way down. I know people are faced with their own challenges but a book is such a great way to escape from a rough day!!

We still offer post-covid pricing (30% off most used books) and have a huge in-store selection as well as almost 60,000 inventoried books in the warehouse...and we will order in what we don't have and even try to locate hard-to-find out of print books.

We are updating our web page, but it is not fully ready for online sales.
