🌄✨ What an unforgettable day in the stunning Black Hills of South Dakota! We started our morning with a delicious breakfast at the historic (and allegedly haunted! 👻) Bullock Hotel, soaking in the rich history and ambiance.
After fueling up, we strolled through the charming streets of downtown Deadwood, taking in the local culture and shops. Next, we paid our respects at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, where we visited the graves of legends Wild Bill and Calamity Jane—such a powerful reminder of the Wild West! ⚔️
With our Rubicon ready for adventure, we aired down the tires and made our way up to the Custer Peak Fire Lookout. The panoramic views from the top were absolutely breathtaking! 🌲🏞️
On our way back, we cruised through Hill City and were thrilled to see the steam train chugging along. And of course, we couldn’t miss the breathtaking Crazy Horse Memorial!
Next up was a drive through Custer State Park, where we were thrilled to spot buffalo roaming freely and countless prairie dogs popping up to say hello! 🐃🐾 The scenery was spectacular as we continued through the Black Hills National Forest, admiring the unique wooden pigtail bridges along the way.
We then headed back to Deadwood, where we visited an incredible museum that took us back in time to the days of Wild Bill. We checked out a recreation of Bar No. 10, where Wild Bill was shot and killed, along with a brothel room and a mine from that era—such a fascinating glimpse into the past! 🏺✨
Dinner was a mouthwatering steak feast, and to cap off the night, we returned to Mt. Moriah Cemetery after dark. Let me tell you, it was spooky! 👻 The atmosphere sent chills down our spines, perfectly round out an adventurous day. What a truly unforgettable experience in the heart of the Wild West! 💖
