Retrohaus: a guest home for you (and our own beloved childhood home!)
Hi. Weβre Dan Kuebler and Nancy Kuebler Coba, brother and sister owners/innkeepers of retrohaus. We grew up in retrohaus (built in 1906 and remodeled by our dad in the 1970s) with two loving parents and three other siblings. Our parents instilled in us a strong love of family and home. After college, we left Hermann and embarked on our own careers and lives- Nancy as a project manager/graphic designer in Seattle, Washington and Dan as a physical therapist and organic farmer (Farmer Dan) in Columbia, Missouri- but gathered at retrohaus with our parents and large extended families often.
When our parents (Herb and Geneva) passed away recently (after living in retrohaus for over 60 years!), we decided to convert our childhood home into a guest house to continue creating warm memories in this special place.
Weβve renovated aiming for a groovy vibe, keeping as much of the original structure as possible, using many furnishings we grew up with (our Dadβs handiwork can be found in many of retrohausβ accessories made on his wood lathe, etc.) while also modernizing for comfort and style. As a matter of fact, we just added the spanking new second bathroom upstairs. When we lived here as kids, all seven of us family members shared the downstairs bath. It made for some good times!
Weβre so happy to be sharing our home with you. We hope you enjoyed our little history story and feel the love.
