I'm off again! Spent my first day celebrating the great win by O-H-I-O!! Go Buckeyes!!
Today I was moved to the South side of the island. More on that tomorrow. But after we checked out, we did some exploring in Kapa'a before heading down to Poopy and Koloa.
Kauai is the Garden Island, and. It really reflects that with the lush, tropical areas that dominate the landscape here. It also makes for a lot of hiking and waterfalls! This is the most famous on the island - Wailua Falls. The best part? No hiking - so it's easily accessible to everyone. They have created a parking area for the falls at the end of the road that leads up to them, though many people park before there off the side of the road. Wailua Falls are actually as high as Niagara Falls, but obviously don't push as much water over them. They are really beautiful, too!
After enjoying the falls, we stopped in Kapa'a at Wailua Shave Ice. They use natural flavors on their ice. I got the Almond Joy, and Marshall got Da Mango One. They were both light and delicious, as well as refreshing after being outside.
On the way down, we stopped at Verde for lunch. Verde features Mexican food options that are really tasty ,along with drinks. After lunch ,we went over to Safeway in the same plaza to pick up some snacks and beverages for in our room. Great transition day!
