We're keeping our eyes 👀 on the impending weather headed this way later in the week. As we get more specific information we'll share that with you. Until then, please take a moment to read this article https://www.brmemc.com/power-outage-preparedness/ on storm preparedness in case of power outages. Doing some of this now can help ease the burden if the lights do go out. Remember, our crews will work around the clock in the inclement weather as long as they can work safely. If you have a generator be sure it's hooked up properly with a double-pole and double-throw breaker so that it doesn't back feed and put the lives of our crewmen in danger.

Irresistible Lemon Cake
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
1 box of yellow cake mix
1 small box of instant lemon pudding mix
¾ cup of vegetable oil
¾ cup of water
4 eggs, beaten
For the Glaze:
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons water
⅓ cup fresh lemon juice
Directions:
1. Preheat the Oven:
- Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan to ensure easy release of the cake.
2. Prepare the Cake Batter:
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs until smooth. Add the cake mix, lemon pudding mix, oil, and water. Mix everything until the batter is smooth and well combined.
3. Bake the Cake:
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
4.Prepare the Glaze:
- While the cake is baking, mix powdered sugar, lemon juice, and water in a medium bowl. Add the melted butter and stir until smooth.
5. Glaze the Cake:
- After the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool slightly. Poke holes all over the cake using the end of a wooden spoon. Pour the glaze evenly over the cake, letting it seep into the holes.
6. Serve and Enjoy:
- Allow the cake to cool completely before slicing and serving. Enjoy the moist, lemony goodness!

Mark your calendars for Park After Dark this Fall! 🌙

Park After Dark is an open walk down the gardens Main Trail to Fishing Hole Rock. The trail will be lined with colorful lights and torches – bring a glass of wine or champagne from our Wine Bar with you!

The event runs Thursday nights, 7pm-10pm, September 5th-October 3rd. (It will run concurrently with the Fall Acoustic Sunset Series).

So grab your blankets & chairs and join us this fall for live music, food, garden tours, and fun! We'll see you there! 😉
