I can’t wait to get the mix of lush mountains and ocean, to watch the sunset from our suite, to get to know the city of Puerto Vallarta and to bring my experiences back to you!

We REALLY wanted more culture on this trip so we debated accommodation options forcing us to be out and about (not all-inclusive), but ultimately turned to the conveniences of an all-inclusive because of the age of our kids. We’ll be staying at the beautiful Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta surrounded by cliffs and waves! 🌊 ⛰️ 🌴 We’ve extended our stay longer than our typical getaway which will encourage us to get off property and explore the surrounding areas! It’s time for a “rebrand” 🙌🏼

In the travel industry there are several umbrella roles and names. We have our travel consortia, over our host agency, over our agency, over me, a sub agent.

I joined a new host agency and have been a sub agent for Paradise Travel Vacation Planners for about a year now and since I still work for myself, I kept my original business name - Vantage Point Expeditions by Alex. But, in an effort to streamline my business, I’ve decided it’s time to align my branding with our agency. Going forward, my business is Paradise Travel by Alex. Since I’m a one man band, transitioning my business will take time.
Current booked clients will still receive communications from Vantage Point Expeditions and new clients will roll into Paradise Travel by Alex.

According to CNN News, starting October 26th, United Airlines will implement the WILMA plan. WILMA (window, middle, aisle) is hoped to speed up boarding times. Don’t worry, those on the same flight reservations, like families, will all be allowed to board together!

•What: ETIAS-European Travel Information and Authorization System-“…is a planned electronic authorization system of the European Union for visa-exempt visitors travelling to the European Union or the Schengen Area, as well as Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Romania with the exception of Ireland, which is part of the Common Travel Area.”
•Who: Needed for visa exempt travelers visiting EU for short-term.
•When: Needed for travel beginning in 2024
•How: Applying is fast and efficient online. Pay an $8 application fee. All visitors need to fill out the application however visitors younger than 18 & older than 70 are exempt from the fee. Majority of applications are processed quickly and last for 3 years so it’s encouraged to apply well in advance of your trip to ensure approval and since it won’t expire right away.

Our latest trip was a great “resume building” experience 😉 THIS is why using a travel agent is beneficial to you…
•
Let me begin by saying that overall our trip was amazing!! Incredible memories made with our little ones, gorgeous Jamaica, WONDERFUL Jamaican people, good food, and a ton of fun spent in the sun, sand and salt water!
•
Our trip was booked extremely last minute, one week before departure. So, our resort options were a bit limited. This resort was rated 5⭐️ but reviews were all over the place ranging from this being the best AI to the worst. We decided to take the chance as it looked extra fun for the kids with the water park, lazy river and bowling alley!
•
While there were a lot of positives as mentioned above, we felt the cleanliness and how the resort as a whole was maintained didn’t align with the star rating or price we paid. I went through the motions of possibly changing resorts, but we were upgraded to a better quality room and ended up making the most of our time there.
•
This experience helped me to personally understand the problem solving processes to make an unsatisfactory stay better, and allowed me to vet a location in person.
•
When booking with an agent, if anything unsatisfactory comes up, you’ve got an extra resource to help you problem solve. On the other hand, if you book online, you’re on your own to figure things out.
•
If you have questions specific to our stay, I’m an open book and will give honest feedback. The resort has SO MUCH POTENTIAL to be an extra special spot for families, but until they make some changes, I wont be selling it to my clients.

This is your sign to send the message in a bottle 🥰 On May 17, 2024 we helped Ollie write and launch his first message in a bottle from Puerto Vallarta, with the expectation that that was the extent of this fun moment. We sent a simple message asking for the recipient to text us if it was found. Ollie asked several times after if anyone had found the bottle and my responses were usually something like “I’m not sure we will, it’s probably sitting at the bottom of the ocean.” — On July 28th we received a text from a lovely lady in Long Beach, California. She sent a picture of the letter and shared that she was standing in about 3 feet of water when she felt it under her feet. I’m simply blown away that this bottle was discovered and that it traveled around 1,500 miles up the coast 😲 Magical moments like this are a nice reminder to never stop dreaming AND a reminder of just how close and connected we can be around this world of ours.
