Highlands ‘Where the Jersey Shore Begins’ is a hidden gem. We have waterfront restaurants that are open year round, great bars & BYOs.

We are at the start of the 30m long Henry Hudson Bike Trail + you can bike/hike through Hartshorne Woods. There’s also lots of maritime history to explore like at the Twin Lights Lighthouse. You can take a quick trip to NYC on the ferry or do nothing but relax on our beautiful beaches. Did I mention it’s a super town too ?!

🦞 is a take-out seafood shop on Bay Ave serving up fresh caught seafood and prepared meals and the BEST soups 🥣

🥣Everything is as fantastic as L***y Lobster’s name - but I LIVE for their seasonal soups 🤤🤤 they even do excellent New Orleans style soups.

🦞 Stop by for a simple soup or a feast - you will not be disappointed.

🧺Pack a picnic and wander over to the Gertrude Ederle park sitting at the top of the hill near the Highlands-Seabright Bridge with spectacular views of Sandy Hook Bay & the marina.

🌸The small but beautiful park was named after Gertrude Ederle. ‘Trudy’ an Olympic Champion, grew up in NYC and spent her summers in Highlands. She was the first woman to swim across the English Channel….beating the record set by the previous male swimmers 🏊‍♀️

has delicious dishes and a charming intimate dining room setting. It works if you’re a party of 2 or 10 - they know how to make everyone feel right at home. Make sure to make a reservation 📞

-call Royal Atlantic Wines to get beverages delivered or stop a few blocks south on Bay to grab a 6 pack or bottle of wine from the small shop.

‘This home is perfect for a vacation with family or in my case for me and my bridal party to stay in and get ready in on the morning of my wedding. Plenty of space to eat as a group and to get hair and makeup done with ample lighting and outlets. The house is so beautiful and the outdoor space is truly magical, I saw a hummingbird while drinking my morning cup of coffee. Great location for going out for a good meal and drinks. I will definitely be back! “

🏡We added 4 ADK Chairs that we are testing out in different spots outside.

☕️I can vouch for how comfortable they are - I spent several days outside with my computer on my lap, my iced coffee in holder, a small table for my notebook & stuff, and Tootsie’s company.

this little gem at the end of Sandy Hook is the perfect way to end a beautiful beach day. The food and drinks are excellent - they’ve got a huge menu of mules & delectable apps. We liked everything esp the calamari with fried jalapeño 🤤 ) the vibe is tropical 🐠🦩🌊

The beer garden outside has a bar, tons of seating and there’s at least a glimpse of the bay from any seat. They’re open year round so you can hang out in the spacious industrial chic restaurant inside after a winter walk on the beach or for football games.

15 min drive & such a beautiful one !
