We went out to scout some areas and the Striped Bass run is not here yet, but they should be here soon! The waters are still too warm in the upper 67-68 degrees got to get cooler temperatures. We caught some bluefish but they were chopping are eels up!! No Bass around yet!! Will keep you guys posted as to when the Fall Run starts!!

The Reel Happy decided to take a trip to look for the elusive inshore BFT. Left the dock at 5:30am loaded with gear, bait, & ice! On the way out to our spot we came across a lobster pot with mahi jumping around it and decided to try for some. The mahi would not take any bait we had so we switched to trolling around the pots and caught 2 mahi. We moved out deeper and set our spread out for BFT. We came across a whale with some dolphins and rod went screaming off only to find a false albacore at the end of the line. We kept the albie for bait later. We continued trolling with no luck and decided to return to the lobster pots for another try at mahi. This time they were hungry and loaded the box up before heading home! Spots are still available and fall striper run will be starting soon so book today!

Today we had Kevin’s group out and decided to go bottom fishing for some bottom dwellers. We Started inshore and caught some small fish so we decided to go to deeper waters. We had 8-9 decent giant humpback Seabass caught but all were released to see another day. Caught Ling, Fluke, and a good number of decent-sized whiting for the box. Overall pretty steady and after filling the box guys were tired so we called it a day.. 🎣🇺🇸🤙😎

Today we had a short trip with Darren and his kids out for the first time fishing. They all caught some flukes, sea robins, black Seabass, and dogfish. Turned out to be a beautiful afternoon.

Today we had Al and Frank out for a bottom fishing excursion. When we left the dock it was calmer than we planned and decided to try for some mahi mahi at the local pots. We had several mahi around the pots but they had lockjaw. We turned our focus toward fluke and black seabass. Once we arrived at our spot that has produced, it didn’t fail us and provided us with several black seabass, a keeper fluke, and many many many shorts! We moved around a lot from there continuing a steady pick of short fluke and added 2 additional keepers to our box. Everyone went home with fat bags of meat for dinner!

We had Stan and Brian out today searching for some Fluke. The morning was very slow. We caught a limit of Seabass and tons of shorts. We managed to catch a keeper-size Fluke which was 19” 1/2 inches.
Overall we had a lot of action throughout the afternoon.
