This was a great location for our young family. Walking distance to Fred Meyer, very clean and cozy, and the hedges create great privacy from the street. We fit our two older kids in the twin and trundle, and had the baby with us in a pack and play. Worked great!

Oasis in the middle of everything

First of all I wanna thank the owners for allowing us to stay at their home. I think the pictures don’t do it justice of how beautiful the property is. “It’s conveniently placed right in the middle of everything but yet since the property is in between hedges It is perfectly secluded as well. The bedding and mattresses were absolutely fantastic. The owners also provided us with a beautiful fire pit area and a generous amount of firewood which was really nice! Overall the house was pretty beautiful & well taken care of. With all this being said I do have a couple tips that would have made my trip just a little bit more wonderful than it already was. One thing that did make me a little bit uncomfortable was the lack of privacy in the bedrooms, I wasn’t able to lock the room or have curtains that weren’t see-through while I was changing. Also Being that the property is surrounded by a lot of outdoors like trees, bushes, plants, & etc. There was a lot of spiders in and out of the property I would have appreciated some sort of repeller because they were pretty big spiders. And one last thing I was hosting a small birthday gathering (that of course I had advised the owners before hand) I had a little nephew spill some of his juice. And as we all know just become sticky so it would have been really handy to have more cleaning supplies provided than just the all in one cleaning supplies.

Thank you for the review! We enjoyed having you & I hope you'll consider it again next time you're in town. The master bedroom door does lock, but the little one does not. I'm looking to add some roll down blinds in both rooms for additional privacy and to block out light. We actually do have all of the cleaning supplies we use at the house available to guests, which can be found under the sink, or in the cabinet in the laundry room, along with rags and washable mop heads. I'll make a note of that for future guests, as well as providing something for the spiders. Thanks again, and Happy Birthday!

Perfect getaway!

A gem located right in Hillsboro! The whole property was surrounded by tall shrubs - secluding you from the busy neighborhood. Huge yard with fresh figs, apples, and wine grapes. There’s also a grill if you want to have a nice bbq.

Beautifully decorated interior stocked with everything you might need from pots and pans to hair dryers. Both beds are extremely comfortable. There is a Fred Meyer right across the street for anything else you might need.

Shannon & Jim were amazing hosts. They provided us all the information we needed and were just a text away for any questions we had.

Garden Haven was built in 1930 and remodeled extensively in the mid 1950’s, a history that granted us artistic license to remodel the home in the style of eras true to our hearts. Many fixtures used are old family objects with sentimental value and many many others are thrift store finds that have all found a place to be together.

Shannon and I are native to the Hillsboro area and have remodeled many properties over the years.
