Good evening to all of my Facebook friends and new acquaintances! I will do my best to make this brief
but as an educator, I ask that you please read my post in its entirety.
So many of you always ask me what I’ve been doing since my retirement from teaching which was my greatest passion ever. Yes, I do care for my grandson three days a week which brings me immeasurable joy, but I want to tell you all about an organization here in Hillsdale that I am a member of and that I find very dear to my heart. I, along with ten other volunteers, are the committee members of Hillsdale Helping Hillsdale. For those who don’t know about HHH, “it is a nonprofit organization whose goal it is to help its neighbors maintain their quality of life and personal dignity by providing financial assistance during time of unexpected hardship”. This organization provides support to our elderly community members, families with children, and the disabled.
Although we ask for assistance throughout the year, this is the season which calls for your support more than ever as our organization functions on monetary, tax deductible donations as well as goods and services. If you are able to help, on behalf of HHH, we ask if you could make either a cash donation or provide gift cards to help our neighbors and friends requiring assistance this holiday season.

We also are collecting new, unwrapped toys sent in by our students in the two lower elementary schools. So if you have a child at either Meadowbrook or Ann Blanche Smith Schools, we would truly appreciate your generosity to assist those less fortunate.
Our organization also has a giving tree located in the Hillsdale Post Office (photo enclosed) which provides tags for items in need for our fellow residents. Should you prefer, Hillsdale Helping Hillsdale will be available at a table during our Hillsdale tree lighting to collect gift cards.

I thank you all for reading my post and hope that you are able to help make our residents holidays less stressful and a lot brighter. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah!
