One for the record books, we'd say! She is called a daytime nester. She was near a very popular beach and many people got to see her nest , and by the time she was finished, over one hundred people got to see her crawl back to the water after finishing her nest. For those of you who know that a sea turtle is a reptile and that reptiles can't regulate their own body temperature, this was early enough in the day that the sun was not going to overheat her. Whew! Sea Turtle Patrol staff (MTP566) was on hand to see to her safety, and you can tell how respectfully the growing crowd was behaving. Well done all of you!
