It’s our favorite day of the week…Manatee Monday! Aerial loves sharing her fun facts about her friends 1) Manatees spend up to 8-hours eating! They eat up to 10-15% of their body weight, every single day. 2) Unlike our brains, the brains are perfectly smooth. 3) They lack full color vision, they mostly just see shades of blue and green.

Guess what…it’s Manatee Monday! Ariel said she is thankful to have made it through Helene and is sending hugs to everyone affected 🥰 She also wanted to share some more fun facts. 1) She has one calf every 2-5 years that weighs 60-70lbs 2) Her calf is born tail first and stays with her for 2-years 3) The calf will begin to nurse underwater from a milk gland under her pectoral flipper just hours after birth

It’s Manatee Monday! Our girl Aerial wants to share some more fun facts about her Sea Cow friends. 1) they can swim up to 15 mph 2) they are mammals and their closest relative is an elephant 3) they have no natural predators, even alligators give them the right-of-way!

It’s Manatee Monday! Check out our girl Aerial taking a nap with some of her friends. Fun fact: Manatees emit sounds underwater that sound like squeaks and squeals. These vocalizations are used to maintain contact when manatees are feeding or traveling. Have you ever heard any of these noises from a manatee?
