This was yesterday… What is going on this week? Another daytime nester on HHI and this kiddo was standing in the right spot. Luckily, he and his dad knew to move. Unfortunately, others weren’t as aware. She made it to the dunes to start digging but aborted her dig and returned to the ocean. If you look closely, you can see footprints are so close and in front of the turtle.
We recognize the excitement but ask if you could respect the space of these sea turtle mamas during their critical walk to find their preferred location.

What a way to start the week on Hilton Head Island… Are you ready to cross this off your bucket list? This was early this morning, right here on our Hilton Head Island beach! We are so impressed that locals and visitors alike over 100 of them were in awe and watched this beautiful creature head back to the ocean, gave her the space and the respect she needed. We have been receiving inquiries about jellyfish, sharks, and man-o'-war stingrays. The most common question is whether there are sharks in Hilton Head waters, and our answer is that the ocean is home to sharks. However, it would be extremely unusual to encounter one while on Hilton Head. We use an app out of curiosity to track their presence. “Sharkology”

3 sisters ... Well 2 sisters and their cousin. Soon they will each fill a bag with rocks, hop on the FREE trolley and bring their treasures back to the cabana...When staying at Have you done this? How hot are you in August? Most of our guests love to chill just outside our patio door! They cool off at the cabana’s inviting pool and relax in the 3 acre courtyard after a hot sunny day where just 500 steps away you too will be at the beach. Would it be ok if we shared with you our last available August date? The good news 2 new full baths and the entire upstaies was remodeled and we still have 1 summer week open, The bad news is we only have 1 summer weeks open ! How hot are you in August? Most of our guests love to relax and cool off at this inviting pool and 3 acre courtyard after a hot sunny day 500 steps away at the beach. Hilton Head Hatchlings race to the icean!

Our summer dates are sold out but we have one week in October open for you to stay at our cabana and possibly... see turtle tracks or even hatchlings. 🐢 Turtle Trackers of Forest Beach... at the beach, after sunset. Fill in holes dug by humans, smash sand castles made by humans. Hand out red covers for flashlights lenses( baby turtles follow the moon to the ocean or they get lost and die following flashlights and house lights). Turtle Trackers also pick up ALL items left in the beach and dispose of it including tents, umbrellas, chairs, sanders, toys etc. Also FYI no shovels with handles longer than longer than 30 inchs are allowed... if you know of any business that would put a flyer in their establishment .
