A last minute additional round of golf took us to one of the more scenic public courses, in South Florida.
Heritage Ridge is a Tom Fazio design which opened for play back in 1981. At only a little over 6000 yards, this par 70 course should not be taken for granted, as there are plenty of water hazards to gather any wayward shots. Along with the stiff Atlantic breeze which on some holes can add two clubs to your shot selection, the course requires full concentration.

No visit to South East Florida is complete without a visit to Medalist Golf Club. Since it opened in 1995 its reputation has grown year on year. It is home to numerous touring professionals and whilst it is a good test of golf, it certainly is a fair one.
Many thanks to Kim for hosting us, and we look forward to seeing you over in Europe.

Next up was a long awaited return to Jupiter Hills Club. It has been quite a few years since we last played there, and the changes by Tom Fazio have totally enhanced the experience. Many thanks to George for hosting us, on what was a hugely fun day on the golf course. After our post round cocktails we headed over to 1000 North for a superb dinner, which completed a great day.

We emerge from a winter of planning for our summer 2025 schedule, with a trip to Florida playing golf with some of our fantastic clients.
At 24 hours notice an opportunity presented itself for us to play at Emerald Dunes Club, which was hastily accepted !😀
This exclusive private members club is one of the top courses in the state, a must play if ever the opportunity presents itself.

The final round of the trip took us to the two time Ryder Cup venue, and Open Championship qualifying course that is Southport & Ainsdale golf club.
Founded in 1906, this fantastic links was until recently one of the courses that flew under the radar in this part of the world, with regard to overseas visitors. Nowadays it attracts many visitors who come and enjoy the golfing experience on offer here.
We were blessed with blue skies and temperatures touching 80 degrees, so a fitting end to what has been a great 9 days over here.

The penultimate round of the trip found us at a breezy Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club.
Another course to have hosted many major golf events, Royal Lytham provides a different test of golf. Unusually for a links course it does not sit besides the sea and even without towering sand dunes, the rough, wind and its 160+ bunkers gives you plenty to think about whilst plotting your way around. Our very personable caddies Andrew and Neil did a great job and provided lots of background and history about this very traditional club.

After our two days in the beautiful Lake District, it was time for the final three rounds of the golf sector of the trip.
First we had what is considered by many as the best golf course in England, Royal Birkdale. The club has played host to ten Open Championships, Ryder Cups, Women's Opens, Men's Senior Open and the PGA Championship, amongst others.
A cloudy and cool start to the round was soon replaced by blue skies and warm sunshine, on a surprisingly calm day here in the North West of England. With Steve and Chris on the bags, we had two of the best in the business guiding us around this challenging but fair test of golf.

Today we left the bikes behind and took a five hour hike from Ambleside to Grasmere, with a stop at the famous gingerbread shop, before taking the "coffin route" back to Ambleside.
This trail was used in the old days to transport the dead for burial in Grasmere, following a route around the beautiful Rydal water and below Nab Scar.

After three days of golf it was time for a change of scenery, up in the Lake District national park.
We arrived promptly to meet Anna our guide for the day and set off on a full days cycling tour, taking us through the South Lakes area which included a crossing on the Windermere ferry, from Bowness.
Thankfully we all had e bikes, so we could tackle the steep terrain that we encountered, frequently ! An excellent lunch in the Drunken Duck split up our day, and gave us the energy required for the second half of the tour.
