I'm all for supporting mother earth, but if you’ve been to a Disney park
lately, you know those paper straws are... not magical. They’re soggy by the time you hit the second sip, and if you’re enjoying a Dole Whip float or milkshake, good luck!

But here’s the thing: Disney’s switch to paper straws is part of a larger effort to reduce single-use plastics and protect the environment. It’s a small, commendable step with a big impact, but it doesn’t make those paper straws any easier
to love!

So, what’s the solution? Be prepared! Bring your own reusable straw (there are tons of collapsible and easy-to-clean options out there), or pick one up at the parks—
many shops sell cute themed reusable straws if you want a magical upgrade. Or you can just skip the straw altogether!

Let’s talk about Disney’s Pop Century Resort—because while it’s not a deluxe (or even moderate) resort, for so many people, it’s HOME. And honestly, it’s easy to see why!

Pop has this vibrant, fun vibe that celebrates the nostalgia of decades past, from larger-than-life decor to fun nods to everything from yo-yos to floppy disks (remember those?). But there’s more to Pop than just its charm—it’s packed with perks that make it a fan-favorite, especially for multi-generational trips.

For starters, it’s a Disney Value Resort, which means you’re saving some serious cash while still getting all the perks of staying on property (hello, early park entry!). And thanks to the Disney Skyliner, Pop Century guests have quick, breezy
access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. It’s like having a deluxe-level transportation option at a value price. Score!

It’s also the perfect middle ground for big family trips. Grandparents can appreciate the throwback vibe (and food court with plenty of options), while the little ones will love the colorful, oversized characters around the resort. And for everyone else? Affordable rooms and fun pools make it a nobrainer.

Pop Century is always my go to when it comes to booking a value resort for my clients!

If you’ve ever loved fairy tales or marveled at intricate little details—whether it was playing with dolls, building epic Lego villages, or creating your own imaginary worlds—Disneyland’s Storybook Land Canal Boats might just surprise you.

It’s not the flashiest attraction in the park, and it’s certainly not an “E-ticket” must-do, but wow, does it deliver on the feels for us grown ups!

Tiny castles, lush gardens, and perfectly detailed villages bring to life classic stories like The Little Mermaid, Frozen, Aladdin and more. Whether you’re admiring the craftsmanship or just reliving your childhood, there’s something undeniably heartwarming about it. And it’s a completely, dare I say, better experience after dark!

Are the winter blues hitting hard for anyone else right now?
The gray skies, the cold temps, and the never-ending layers —it’s a vibe, but not the one we want. You know what SOUNDS GREAT, though? Escaping it all for a little sunshine and magic!

Imagine trading boots for flip-flops as you stroll down Main Street, U.S.A. soaking in that Florida sunshine at Walt Disney World. Or maybe hopping aboard a Disney Cruise, where the hardest decision is if you’ll get the drink of the day or order another pina colava. And let’s not forget Universal Resort, where you can dive into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter where the cold and snow in Hogsmeade is imaginary!

Even if you’re not quite ready to pack your bags, planning a trip is half the fun! Putting a vacation on the books gives you something magical to look forward to—and trust me, it’s the perfect remedy for these cold, dreary days!

Can we put a price tag on memories? Absolutely not! That’s why Disney Cruise Line’s photo packages are such a great way to capture those magical moments.

If you’re familiar with PhotoPass or Memory Maker at Walt Disney World,
there are some key differences to know:
Photo Package Options: Choose an unlimited package(cheaper if purchased before your cruise, with pricing based on trip length) or go smaller with a 10-photo package. You can also buy individual photos if there are only a few you want.
Who Needs to Be in the Photos?: With the unlimited package, someone from the room with the package must be in the photo. Unlike Memory Maker, it can’t
simply be shared with other people.
Timing is Everything: Select or purchase your photos by the last night of your cruise—photos aren’t available on debarkation day or after the cruise. Don’t miss out!
Delayed Access: Purchased photos can take up to 48 hours to show up in your account after the cruise, but they will appear if you bought them in advance or
onboard.

If you’re looking for a unique and creative way to spend some downtime on your Walt Disney World trip, let me introduce you to the mosaic tile activity offered at select resorts. This is such a fun way to bring home a truly special
souvenir that you’ve made yourself!

It’s perfect for a non-park day, especially if you’re a frequent visitor looking for something fresh and a little out of the ordinary. You’ll get to create your own custom mosaic tile— think colorful designs, Disney-inspired creativity, and something completely one-of-a-kind to remember your trip by. Plus, it’s a relaxing activity that’s great for adults, teens, or even a family experience if you all want to join in!

**note it’s only available on certain days**

Is there anything better than those first few hours at Disneyland?
I mean, come on—the way the sun hits just right, casting that perfect almost angelic glow on Sleeping Beauty Castle and Main Street, U.S.A., as the park starts towake up? Pure magic.
You’ve got the sweet smell of churros and popcorn already wafting through the air (because obviously, snacks are life), and that upbeat Disney soundtrack mixing with the buzz of guests in matching shirts planning their day? Chef’s kiss. Early entry is where it’s at, folks. Short lines, fewer people, better photo ops and the absolute joy of breezing through the park like a VIP.
If there’s ever a time you feel like this really is the happiest place on earth, it’s first thing in the morning! The same can't be said when you're at home getting ready for work, can it?

Taking a theme park or cruise vacation solo might sound a little unconventional, but trust me—it’s an experience you’ll treasure!

Imagine TOTAL FREEDOM to do exactly what YOU want, when YOU want, with NO compromises?!

Here’s my two cents on this topic:
With no one else’s schedule to juggle, you can design a day that’s all about you! Stop to smell the roses, grab that 10am churro, pop into every shop at World Showcase, or go all out with rope drop to park close. The choice is yours!

Hear this: traveling solo doesn’t mean traveling alone. Be mindful of your surroundings and stick to official tours or excursions—but don’t let fear hold you back. Exploring on your own can be incredibly empowering and rewarding.

The idea of solo dining is probably the most intimidating but it’s a treat! Take time to savor your meal, people-watch, or enjoy a character meal – characters often spend
more time with solo diners.

And a bed all to yourself to curl up in at the end of the day?! That sounds like a dream!

As Rafiki says: “The past can hurt.” This is especially true if the past involves bad shoe choices in Disney parks!
Do not choose style over comfort, you will regret it. A typical guest at Walt Disney World clocks about 18,000+ steps a day. Not to mention it often rains, can be blistering hot and on top of walking, there’s also a lot of standing involved. Your feet
really work overtime!

Pro-tip: If you're planning on purchasing new shoes for the trip, don't wait until you get there to start breaking them in. Alternately if you're bringing your most favorite, well loved pair from home make sure they still have plenty of life left- I learned this one the hard way and was up all night once tending to the not one, or two but FIVE blisters I got on day 1!

The queen of all princess castles has got to be Disneyland Paris’ Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant (translation: Sleeping Beauty Castle). You may want to fight me on this, but first let me make my pitch – it has an animatronic dragon!
I don’t think I need to say more, but I will.
Visually stunning, guests are welcome inside where not only are you presented with the retelling of the original story through readings and tapestries as you walk up around and through, but you feel as if you’ve stepped inside the fairytale. Snoring life-sized guards, impressive stone pillars, stunning stained glass windows, winding
staircases...it’s all so fantastic! Then you head below to the Dragon’s lair.
You may find her sleeping, but not for long...

While you could never mistake a Disney sailing for a “booze cruise” (they don’t have alcohol packages like most cruise lines), what they do offer is a wide variety of beverage tastings!

Whether you prefer wine, beer or spirits there’s a seminar for every taste in libation. One such experience, the Kick Start Your Day Beverage Tasting, is uniquely only offered on embarkation day. For around $40, those who partake receive a signature mimosa, Bloody Mary and three nonalcoholic craft juice drinks. If brunch style cocktails are your favorite, this is the tasting for you!

It’s Random Act of Kindness day and it’s got me thinking about all the ways I’ve seen strangers be really good to each other over the years. From leaving trinkets to find,
handing out compliments, saying “Happy Birthday”, sharing extra dining credits or handing off expensive balloons that won’t be able to travel home, there are plenty of ways Disney folks have paid it forward in the parks.

Sometimes it's the small things that stick with you forever!

For a resort with serious style, great amenities, and a little extra value, consider Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando Resort!

It’s the perfect choice for families who want a taste of luxury without breaking the bank. While there are MANY reasons to call this resort your Universal “home”, here are the top 5:

1.) Boat Access: Skip the bus and enjoy a scenic ride to CityWalk and the parks—just like the Signature hotels!
2.) Proximity to Volcano Bay: You’re just a short walk from Universal’s water park paradise.
3.) Incredible Style: The laid-back tropical vibes are perfect for unwinding after a day of thrills. With stunning pools, lush landscaping, and Caribbean-inspired decor, it feels like an island getaway within a theme park vacation.
4.) Family-Friendly Dining: From the flavorful offerings at Amatista Cookhouse to grab-and-go options for those early park mornings at New Dutch Trading Co. and the impressive menu at Strong Water Tavern, there’s something for everyone.
5.) Family Suites: Give yourself and everyone in the family a little SPACE. Thoughtfully appointed suites with adjoining rooms for the kids provide an extra level of comfort.

Day 6️⃣ of our Icelandic adventure brought us to the Golden Circle- a popular route for viewing some of the best known natural sites in Iceland. We took in the sunrise on the way to the Gullfoss Waterfall, visited the bubbling Strokkur Geysers and bubbling mud pots, hiked in Þingvellir National Park and straddled the fissure that separates the Eurasian and North America tectonic plates. We were sad to check out of our gorgeous cabin in the beautiful area of Kirkjubæjarklaustur where we had absolutely stunning views of the Northern Lights 3 days in a row- something I’m told is almost unheard of! We’re back in Reykjavik for our last night and will head home tomorrow with amazing memories, maybe a few extra pounds and a fever 🤒 Does anyone else get sick any time they spend time in an airport?! 😩 Fun fact: medicine is only sold in pharmacies in Iceland (which seem to be few and far between) not at grocery or convenience stores and it must be purchased by speaking to the pharmacist.

We spend a lot of time raving about Disney’s amazing, upscale eats, food festival dishes and full service restaurants but what if all you really want are some chicken tenders and fries? No judgment here!

Sometimes, after eating clean at home, a theme park is exactly the place to indulge in those crispy, golden fries, loaded hot dog or a juicy, 5-napkin burger piled high with toppings.

At Walt Disney World, there’s no shortage of quick dining locations, but they aren’t all created equally. Here’s a solid lineup for scoring some tasty classic theme park fare:
Cosmic Ray’s (Magic Kingdom) Burgers/Chicken Sandwiches
Casey’s Corner (Magic Kingdom) Hot Dogs/Corn Dogs
Backlot Express (Hollywood Studios) Chicken Tenders
Flame Tree Barbecue (Animal Kingdom) Chicken/ribs
Connections Eatery (EPCOT) Pizza, Burgers, Tenders

Day 5️⃣ we started off the day with a quick view of the Northern Lights on our way back from breakfast (sunrise wasn’t until about 9:30!) then we went on a cave hike and let me tell you when the Icelandic people classify a tour as an activity level 2 out of 5 they don’t mean the average American’s activity level 😅 we also visited Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach where we saw seals frolicking in the water 🦭 I wish you could see how absolutely gorgeous the last glacier photo was in real life- the pictures don’t even do them justice.
