We have drywall again. The pile of our ruined stuff was picked up, and more and more places are announcing they are opening, including Manatee Public Beach!!!!

held up very well after Milton. The yard was the biggest mess, but she is cleaned up, and everything has been powerwashed...again.
Contractors that are needed are all scheduled to come finish up things in the next couple of weeks.
Our street is rough looking. The trucks have not been on our street to remove the piles of debris. Holmes Beach has 21 dump trucks working non-stop so, they should be getting to us any day now, and that will make a huge difference.
Bradenton Bach is opening to the public today, and the City of Anna Maria is looking really good as well. Businesses everywhere are announcing daily that they are opening.
It's so uplifting to see everyone working hard and making strides toward recovery. This community is truly amazing. We are so looking forward to hosting guests again soon.

For everyone asking... I will know more about the house on Saturday when owners will be allowed on the island. But thanks to awesome past guests who spotted my house in a video and sent it to me, I now know the house is standing and intact, and I will sleep better tonight knowing this.

Thank you to all our friends, family, and past guests for reaching out and checking on . We did see some water and suffered some damage with 🌀 Helene, but we will be good to go in a couple of weeks. We were so fortunate compared to others. I am so grateful for the amazing people who helped me this week.
Shout out to my friend, Amanda, who said "lets start here." Without her, I might still be standing in shock, not knowing where to begin. To my awesome cleaner, Jeff, for all the power washing he did(Power Pro). He also brought me a toothbrush and toothpaste when I told him I could not get into my owners closet due to swollen doors! (It's the little things!:)
Clyde with Bright Water Pools, he is the best on the island, and I was the only one on the street with a better-looking pool by day 3. Premium Roofing and Restoration for getting all the wet and molding drywall removed. I told them I was not comfortable going back to NY until this step was done, and they made it happen asap!
I wish I could have stayed longer to help my friends and neighbors who have lost so much, but my husband and kiddos need me too, and I miss them terribly. Although I love our home away from home, the most important thing in life is not things or the place but the people in your life. Hug your loved ones a little tighter for me tonight. AMI has lost a lot, but what I witnessed this week was amazing, and I promise you we will be back better than ever, and we look forward to hosting you soon.

Shout out to 4 Rivers BBQ who were set up at Crosspoint Church yesterday giving out free lunches.
Taking a few minutes to eat a hot, delicious lunch yesterday was just what I needed to continue the clean up process. Sometimes people are just awesome! ❤️
