💥We are actively getting work done at the resort, including some fantastic upgrades to both the villas and the property. Current timeline has us back in operation by mid-January😎❤️

💥The island itself has come a long way in a relatively short amount of time. Vacationers are welcome, many of your favorite restaurants and retailers are open, and the beaches are clean, gorgeous, and safe!

💥You NEED the island, but more than ever, the ISLAND needs you! Anyone who relies on tourism to feed their families and afford the necessities has struggled to get by. They miss you. Morning shoutout to Cheesecake Cutie and all the small business folks on the island! They have it tough right now. This place and the owners are amazing people with a great attitude - in the toughest of times 😢. They have bills to pay and mouths to feed, but you can see at 8:50am on a Saturday that this place is empty.
Our island is still our island, even when it’s hurting. If you love it here, make or keep a reservation - wherever you can find that’s open. Support the recovery. Go to the beach - it’s still beautiful.

Quick update now posted on our website!

UPDATE! We have not been able to get anyone we know back to the island for pictures or anything yet. While still needing to handle flood damage from Helene, we did not incur any additional storm surge flooding from Milton.

The island did suffer an extensive amount of wind damage. These pictures from a helicopter capture a corner of MI Happy Place AMI. Initial look is that the roof and structure are intact on one of the buildings. It appears as though a very large palm did fall across the pool deck/fences and into the neighboring property.
Still don’t know for certain (and it may be a few more days before we do), but considering what could’ve been, we were blessed!

We have done all we can to secure the property (which isn’t much). Now we wait and pray for all those who live and make their living not just on this beautiful island, but throughout the state of Florida.

A couple of before and after pics for all who are wondering. We will survive! A lot of debris on the property. One building with a few inches of water inside. One with about a foot. We have a LOT of work to do and it may be a month or two before we can reopen, but overall feeling blessed.
Asking for prayers for our beloved island though. Many people lost a lot, or even lost everything. People whose livelihoods depend on working here will have no jobs for quite some time until tourism returns.
