Saw these advertised on facebook and was a little skeptical. They came in today and fit perfectly. A far cry from the pair I was issued when I was stationed up here in the Air Force. Nobody I flew with wore them because of the belief that they would probably come off in an ejection and you’d be walking in the snow in stockinged feet. Just in time for winter fishing and crabbing!

People often ask me about what I do with the fish I catch. I only keep king salmon, the best, and I only start keeping them this time of year. I can’t justify catching a king in May that I can’t eat until October. I let the fillets relax for a couple of days in my garage fridge then pull the pinbones out with Shun fish bone tweezers. Vacuum wrap after. No bones to puncture the bag and it makes a great currency!

I had a great conversation on my boat the other day with good friend Ben Martin, another fishing guide. We had a good belly laugh telling stories and just having a great time! Then it dawned on me that I need to document all of this before we get too old! I’ll be writing a book this winter. Each chapter will be an amusing anecdote including how I got this fish in my boat single handedly. If you have a story, let’s talk!

Great couple from Washington who may be neighbors ultimately! Tough fishing. Got 3 to the boat but only landed this beauty. Was definitely fishing and not catching today.

Dang! I forgot to take my glasses off! King salmon are on the menu today. Limited by noon. Two doubles that both made it in the boat! Don’t forget, Last Laugh Charters fishes year round.
