We were lucky to see the dolphins feeding this afternoon, after an exceptionally great manatee encounter. I really love my job! Scallop season is just around the corner too!

When a manatee cow leaves her calf to interact with us, because she’s sleeping or eating, the calf can become quite curious and silly. This calf is following Kirsty’s feet. An experience if a lifetime.

My cousin, Emily and her boyfriend, Dylan came for a visit with the manatees! This is a great example of how to watch the manatees respectfully. Great day!

This is how we do it!! Manatees like to lounge in the surface, thermo regulating. Catching the sun’s rays and warming up. These two were quite curious about these ladies. Today was a first time experience for 3 of the 4 ladies, and there were many happy tears. Thank you Angel, Terri, Diana, and first time snorkeler, Rosie!!

Manatees are very curious, and enjoy being touched, when they decide to be. Manatees have many tactile hairs on their body and their whiskers are very sensitive as well. This manatee approached these two and stayed with them for about 20 minutes. You may notice the “kissing” from the manatee. Please share so others may enjoy this experience.
