One of the most gramworthy landmarks and clock towers on the planet is Big Ben, which is technically both the Houses of Parliament and Elizabeth Tower. The name Big Ben was given to the massive bell inside the clock tower, which weighs more than 13 tons (13,760 kg). Fun fact: Big Ben has rarely stopped. Even after a bomb destroyed the Commons champber during the Second World War, the clock tower survived and Big Ben continued to strike the hours.

London's St. Paul's Cathedral is one of the city's most magnificent buildings. The cathedral's most distinguishing feature is its lead-covered dome. To get to the dome, you'll have to climb a grand total of 1161 steps, but the 360° view over London and the Thames makes it very rewarding.

The creation of Stonehenge forever remains a mystery as to when and how it was constructed. Folklore believes that Stonehenge was created by Merlin, the wizard from the Arthurian legend, who magically transported the massive stones form Ireland, where giants assembled them. Historians and archaeologists believe the stones were wheeled over from Wales and constructed from there. We may never know as there is no shortage of conflicting dates and views about Stonehenge.
