We recently had the pleasure of attending the Mauka Warriors Luau in Kunia, Oahu, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! 🌺 From the incredible cultural performances and delicious Hawaiian food to the hands-on activities and warm aloha spirit, this luau is something special.
Amidst the whispers of the earth, where steam meets sky, a solitary figure stands, embracing the warmth of the earth's breath. The Sulphur Banks Trail in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park reveals its mesmerizing spectacle, as golden light dances through the plumes, crafting a moment where time stands still.

In between the craziness of summer Hawaiian tourism boom time. We managed to have some fun too.
I hopped aboard the Hobie 33ft, Swift Arrow, for the 78th Annual Lahaina Return Regatta. Starting at Honolua Bay, Maui and finishing at Kaneohe Bay, Oahu we finished 1st in our class.
Here we are spinnaker sailing along the North Shore of Molokai.

As Hawaii tourism slowly begins to reopen we want our customers to be aware of what activities are available to them during their visit. The easiest way to browse is our "date finder" tool on our homepage which connects to 100s of tour operators live availability. Simply put in the date you want to get RAD and the tool will let you know who is open for business. It's easy, accurate, and full of Aloha!
We want to help keep you informed on the future of tourism activities in Hawai.
Here is our new Hawaii Covid-19 Activity Information page. We built this as a way to provide upcoming visitors with safe recommendations for planning their trip to Hawaii when tourism safely reopens.
We hope this helps and look forward to welcoming you back soon.
With Covid-19 moving through the world. Hawaii Tourism has been completely placed on pause for the time being.
We will find out on June 1st if the Governor plans on lifting the stay-at-home mandate on the state.
If so, Hawaii Tourism leaders will begin the discussion on how to responsibly reopen our largest industry and provider of jobs.
If not, we will continue to wait patiently for a time when we can welcome our visitors back with Aloha.

North shore season has been good thus far. With lots more swell on the way. This is an old photo I took with a waterhousing many years ago at the sandbar. But it is still relevant to what is happening today.

One of my favorite places for bodyboarding is Makapu'u beach.
It has many faces and can be an easy beginners wave, or it can be an expert only powerful wave. Always check with the lifeguards before entering the water.
But when it all comes together, and the sun is out, the water is warm, it is one of the most beautiful places in Hawaii.

I went hiking up the valley and discovered this wild kalo (taro).
Kalo is considered by some to be the world's oldest cultivated crop and is a staple food of Hawaiians.
Did someone plant this? Or did it propagate here naturally? The world may never know...

We recently visited Leonard's Bakery to try their famous Malasada's. Check out our recent blog to learn about one of the oldest bakeries in Honolulu. Aloha!
Day 2 from our trip in June. Red Hill Cabin -> Mauna Loa Cabin. 11.6 miles, 3215ft elevation gain. With thin air and a slow pace, this was one of the hardest days of backpacking in my life. I honestly can’t say I’ll ever do this trail again. Photos by:

I’m headed back to the Volcano next week to summit Mauna Loa. I have heard the trail is hot, rugged, and isolated. A true backcountry experience. This is a photo from late last year deep on the Mauna Ulu -> Napau -> Naulu Trail. 10.2 miles

North Shore Lava Tube Freediving
We spent the mid-morning testing our lung capacity with some advanced free diving through the lava tubes on the North Shore. Another awesome Adventure! Aloha!
Visiting Hawaii is hard work. It costs lots of money, it can be a long brutal flight, requires hours of planning, and most importantly, it takes up your valuable time. For those reasons, we believe that visitors deserve only amazing experiences. We want you and your loved ones to be able to relax, make great memories, learn about the culture, and most important have FUN!
Who we are…
Adventure Tours Hawaii was started by me, Shane Sochocki, in 2013. I had always been an avid adventurer, hiking the tallest summits, diving the deepest reefs, surfing the biggest waves, jumping the highest cliffs, etc. I soon thought to myself….I should share this! So the company was started and began offering customized private tours. Adventure Tours Hawaii quickly rose through the TripAdvisor Ranks with over 230 - 5 Star Reviews (no 4 star, no 3 star, 2 star, or 1 star….just 5’s baby!) I worked hard for years to maintain this ranking. I have given 110% of my energy and positivity on every tour. And now I want to connect visitors to all of the other incredible activities available in Hawaii with that same enthusiasm.
That is how this website got started…
After talking to my guests over the years I realized that everyday there are thousands of visitors, milling about Waikiki, wondering where to find adventure. They are spending hours trying to figure out which activities and tours are worth it and which ones just want their money. I felt something had to be done to fix this problem. This website was built for those travelers, and built for you. It is a hub of opportunity, adventures, and experiences that are ranked highly. This is one stop shopping for the best in Hawaii.
Of course I couldn't do it alone...
That is when I met Joe Kromer. Joe can be found traveling between Hawaii, California, NYC and beyond. He shreds snow, charges downhill mountain bikes, is a full on surf addict, and all and all puts hundreds of miles on his VW bus named "Tofu" in search for the next adventure. He is also an incredibly talented software engineer and website builder. It was a natural choice that we needed to be great friends and partners in this business.
NO Tourist Traps Allowed…
We are not offering tourist traps, we are offering experiences. Every activity and tour on this website is highly ranked on review sites. We have personally spoken to the business owners of all activities promoted, and continue to seek out new business partnerships with up and coming quality tour providers. Our goal is for you to spend more time on adventures rather than pouring over tons of brochures without the worry that the tours are going to be a let down.
And Lastly, Communication is key…
Every calendar and booking opportunity you see on this site is connecting you directly to the tour operator. This way we can ensure that your booking confirmation is honored and received in real time by the operator. After booking you will immediately receive a confirmation email and receipt directly from the tour operator. This way you're not getting lost in the shuffle and there won’t be any mix ups. By booking your experiences and tours through our site you can rest assured you are getting direct communication with the people who are going to perform the service and show you and your family the true experience of Aloha in Hawaii.
