Due to the wildfires in Lahaina, vacation travel to West Maui is strongly discouraged for the near term. Hotels in Kaanapali have temporarily stopped new reservations and arrivals through August 31, 2023. Hotels in Wailea South Maui are open for arrivals and new reservations in 2023 & 2024. Kahului Airport Maui (OGG) continues normal operations. Travel to the other Hawaiian Islands of Oahu, Kauai, Island of Hawaii, Molokai, and Lanai are not affected and open for tourism. NCL Hawaiian Island Cruises continue to operate weekly from Honolulu and have temporarily replaced a stop in Maui with an overnight in Hilo.
