Not every grant proposal that Mari and I write is funded.

But I checked our company’s records today. So far this year, we’ve brought in $2 million in government grants for Hawaii non-profits…! Yay…!

We have another $1.8 million in proposals that should be decided tomorrow. Hoping the fickle “Funding Gods” will smile our way…LOL!

- Creating a non-profit in Atalanta.
- Creating a non-profit in Frederick, Maryland.
- Responding to SBA’s question on Maui client’s 8(a) application.
- Inserting color photos into final 60-page business plan draft we wrote for a Kauai client.
- Wrapping up federal grant proposal for an Oahu client we submitted yesterday.
- Editing a $5M - $75M federal grant proposal for another grant writer.
- ZOOM-meeting with an Oahu grant writing client.
Plus a bunch of household errands...

Mari just submitted a $900,000 federal grant proposal for a Native Hawaiian non-profit…! Yay…!
It’s one of the best proposals we’ve ever written. We are hopeful it will be fully funded, but that decision is up to the “Federal Funding Gods.”
Now on to the other federal proposals we are working on that are due in the next two weeks…LOL!

PROUD TO ANNOUNCE: Just notified that 4-of-the-6 state grants we submitted for our grant writing clients in January brought in ANOTHER $559,000…!

The amounts were: $184,000; $150,000; $150,000; and $75,000. Yay…!

PROUD TO ANNOUNCE: Mari is now the WBENC Certification Site Inspector for the State of Hawaii…!
Women Business Enterprise National Council Certification Site Inspectors are responsible for conducting on-site visits to verify information provided in certification applications by reviewing business operations, facilities, and documentation.
They interview key personnel to understand the structure, operations, and management of the business, confirming that it is at least 51% women-owned, controlled, operated, and managed.
Inspectors also examine various documents such as financial records, organizational charts, and board meeting minutes to ensure compliance with WBENC standards.
They compile detailed reports of their findings, which are submitted to WBENC for further review and decision-making, ensuring businesses adhere to WBENC criteria and maintaining the integrity of the certification process.
Based on their findings, inspectors provide recommendations regarding the certification status of the business.

Yesterday, Mari and I finished an SBA 8(a) Business Development Program Application AND an SBA-compliant Business Plan for a successful Kauai contractor that wants to up his game from County and State contracts to Federal contracts.

The SBA 8(a) Business Development program helps socially and economically disadvantaged small-business owners secure government contracts. Through the nine-year program, members can also access training and technical, financial and management assistance to help their business grow and compete for contracts.

He should be an SBA 8(a) contractor – and eligible for a TON of benefits, resources, and contracts his company doesn’t qualify for now – in about 90 days. YAY…!
