It is with great excitement that we share a new coffee we are offering for a limited time. Our roaster visited Las Capucas, Honduras to help judge a competition amongst producers in the area, and she chose a Fair Trade Organic microlot grown by Elvin Peraza to bring back to Hood River. It has lovely tasting notes of rum raisin, cranberries, and cherry cola. It's now available on our website and at the roastery. Give it a try!

James Ham, founder of Water Hands Hope is leaving soon with his crew to Papua New Guinea to continue his work. He asked me to test out one of the solar LuminAID lanterns that were donated to his NGO. They will be passed out to folks in PNG to make walking home in the evenings safer. I can happily report that it worked perfectly on my recent backpacking trip. It even has an outlet for recharging a phone!

Today I met up with a remarkable man, James Ham, an ER Doc in Hawaii. He founded the Water Hands Hope non-profit to bring clean water filters, prosthetic hands and provide medical assistance in Papua New Guinea. After hearing his story and passion behind it, I am a firm believer in the good he is bringing to the people of PNG. I'm grateful to be working with him now and look forward to working with him more in the future!

We are beyond excited to tell you all about a little project we have been working on! For a limited time we are offering Rwandan Kopakaki. To allow for all the wonderful, well balanced flavors to really shine, we opted for a light-medium roast. It has a delicate flavor with lemon and citrus, bright acidity, and a nectar-like body and works beautifully as a pour over. We all had a crazy weekend at both the Global Specialty Coffee Expo in Seattle and the Northwest Foodservice Show in Portland. We stayed busy, met lots of great people, and tried lots of delightful food and coffee. Now we're re-energized and rolling around new ideas for the future.
