"HIGH N TIGHT"

Congratulations Austin!!!!!!!!!

The stars aligned last Sunday Oct 20th and Austin did his part harvesting the highest scoring buck Pennyrile Outfitters has taken. This buck is testament to letting bucks walk and allowing them to reach full maturity. We have a long history with this buck and I've posted a few of our trailcam pic's from 2021=2024. He has been passed dozens of times over that time period. Anyone that has hunted with us over the past four years knows about this buck and they have a direct hand in this story. Austin has been a long time customer and friend. As fate has it he was looking at a 140 class 9 pt that he was passing when Ol High n Tight made the mistake of walking across and open field that Austin was watching. He made an incredible shot with his Muzzleloader at 165 yds. High n Tight was his sole target on this hunt,

It took me a while to post this because we wanted to have him green scored by a Boone and Crockett scorer. That was done on Wednesday.. 197 6/8 th's. Not official as we have to wait the 60 day drying period at which time this same scorer will officially rescore him. We think he will make the "book" but we will see. He will be recored in late December.

Congratulations again Austin. AND A special "Thank You" to all of our great hunters that have been involved in this incredible story.

Buck's are transitioning to their Fall/Winter ranges as their testosterone levels rise and bachelor groups break up and the battle for breeding rights heats up. We lose some bucks but also gain some new one's. We seem to have quite a few ten points this year. Our next group will hit camp mid Oct.

Well, the 2024 Velvet Hunt is over. We had a great group in camp. Unfortunately we didn't harvest any bucks. One of our guests sent me a nice text that summed things up better than I could

"We had a great time. 4 out of 6 people had shooter buck in archery range. Food was great. Accommodations are great. You and Nancy are fantastic. What more can you ask for."

Can't wait to have everyone back in camp next year. I think this may be the first time in our 14 yr history that we have had a 100% rebooking for our Velvet Hunt. We are looking forward to Velvet 2025.

Now it's time let things rest as our bachelor groups break up and everybody heads to their Fall/Winter grounds.

Next hunt is about a month away. I will be posting more trailcam pic's and info. until them..

Just had a cancellation for our Oct 12-15 hunt. This is our only opening for this season. This is an archery only hunt. Crossbows are legal. Arrive at camp the evening of Fri. Oct 11. Hunt Oct 12-15. Leave the morning of Oct. 16. Private lodging and meals/snacks/drinks included. Stands are all set and in place. Price 2200.00. This is the toughest post I've ever had to make. There just aren't words to describe the loss to Nancy and I, our family and our countless friends and customers. CORVUS has passed from a cancerous tumor on his liver. It happened so fast. He brought joy to anyone that ever met him. What a clown and one of the best tracking dogs I've ever had the privilege to follow. He will be missed by all. Godspeed "Corvus" We will see you on the other side.

Another great turkey season is in the books
Congratulations! to all that were fortunate enough to harvest a bird. Numbers are definitely headed in the right direction.
Hoping for a good hatch this Spring and with the number of Jakes seen this year we already know that next year should be great.
Thank you to all that hunted with us this Spring. We're looking forward to seeing you again next year.
